Chance me - UC Davis - Bio-Medical Engineering (Alternate is Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior)

Hi CC,

I haven’t tried a chance me for a specific school (UCD) and a specific major (BME), would like to try that now.

Stats:

  • Current Class Rank 25/366
  • ACT (plus writing): 34
  • SAT II Math II: 730
  • SAT II Bio E: 650

Avg High School GPA: (UC weighted GPA): 4.18 (UC Unweighted): 3.82
Taking 8 APs total by senior year; expecting AP scores to be mostly 4s maybe some 3s; there were 12 or so APs offered to us total throughout high school; 1 UC approved Honors Course, other non-approved honors as well

EC (By senior year predictions):

  • 3 years swim (2 years varsity)
  • Founder of History Club (and president therefore)
  • 3 Years Leo’s Club
  • 3 Years NHS
  • Volunteer Tutor (Through NHS)
  • Have a job as a Math Tutor (recent)
  • 150+ Hours of Volunteer work at Hospital
  • Some awards such as Summa Cum Laude, Bronze PVSA, AP Scholar

My alternate major at UC Davis is Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior, so I’d appreciate it if you can tell me if you think I’d make it into my primary major (BME), or whether I’d get into my alternate major.

Thanks to all replies.

SAT II Bio E should be SAT II Bio M

Match - Great scores/GPA but BioEngineering is known to be one of the most competitive majors @ UCD.

@LomoKuan what about my chances for neurobiology, physiology and behavior?

I say you have a good chance at UCD but as stated by @LomoKuan, BME is super competitive everywhere. UCD may consider your alternate major but there are no guarantees. You would have better chances as a NPB major.
