If it matters: I'm a first generation college student and I received a letter back in April/May for ELC

Do you think I have a chance?

Your GPA is tremendous, however your SAT scores need to come up. Try to break the 1800 or 1850 mark and that should do it.

Being of low income, may or may not help. Because the UCs are starting to accept more OOS applicant that in-state because OOS have to pay even more money because of the California budget crisis.

But your ECs are good, just get that SAT score up a little bit and I think you are in.

Chance back?

Bump Bump…

-Try to squeeze in a bit more of volunteer hours, but other than that you have great ECs.
-Your GPA is BEAST!!!
-If you’re going to try to get in with the ACT try to get 29+.
-Don’t worry about the SAT too much. The first time I took it I got around 1600 with a week of studying. Second time I got an 1810 with 3 days studying. My teachers told me everyone sucks the first time they take the SAT :stuck_out_tongue: But I would really push for a 1900+ to be on the safe side.

Best of luck to you! :)

Thanks, I will definitely try to get my scores up in the fall.
