Chance Me UC Engineering I'll Chance Back :)

Hi guys,

I was wondering on what my chances were on getting into UC Irvine for Computer Science and Computer Engineering.
Also if you guys could chance me on other UCs, USC, UIUC, UT Austin, and Carnegie Mellon that would be great

California Resident

I have decent EC’s as well as decent essays.

Strong ACT as well as Subject scores, easily surpasses Irvine’s averages, your UC gpa is great as well. Should have a pretty good chance of getting in but I’ve had friends get rejected with similar stats.

UC Davis: Match
UCSB: Low Match
UCSC Saftey
UCSD: High Match
UCLA: Reach

Great stats, you are a solid candidate for all the UCs - note though, since they all use holistic admissions, none (other than Merced) is a lock. Spend a good amount of time on your essay and apply to several campuses.

Good luck

You have really strong math and science ACT and SAT II scores which is great for an engineering degree. I am not as familiar with the California schools as I’m from Illinois but it seems like you have a fair shot! What are your extracurriculars? Any clubs, sports, or volunteering? You could definitely get into UIUC, maybe we will both go there!

I do have a 5 week intern at Cisco (200 hours)
130 Volunteer hours at ICC (table tennis center which is known to compete in the Olympics)
10 Hours at my local food shelter
Member of the Comp Sci Club
4 years on Cross Country

I think you have a really good shot at all of them! Great test scores and above average GPA.

UCI, UCSC, UCM: safeties
UCSB: low match (SB’s engineering is really impacted)
UCD, UIUC: match
UCLA, USC, UTA: high match
UCB, CMU: reach

Bump

Knowing that your desired school is a UC let alone, your ACT, GPA, and subject scores will do tremendously well for Irvine, while ignoring your E.C’s and essay. I’d say you have an excellent shot for Irvine. Gl!

@ayyyyyyy
Thanks and yeah I chanced you back

UC Irvine: safety
UCSC: safety
UCM: safety
UCSB: match
UCD: match
UCLA: low reach
USC: match
UIUC: match
UT Austin: match
Carnegie Mellon: reach

I think that you have a decent shot at all of these schools! Your ACT score is higher than the average for most of the schools on your list. I don’t think you’ll have any problem getting into UC Irvine; I actually think UCI is a safety for you. The fact that you’re a California resident is extremely beneficial to you. Your GPA and SAT II scores look very nice. Your class rigor is impressive, and your ECs definitely show commitment and dedication. Good luck!!
