Can your parents afford full pay tuition at Berkeley? No financial aid for intl and out of sate students. OOS tuition is about $45,000/year.

Yes, if it’s Berkeley.

Hi, I’m a Canadian that also applied to UCB for Computer Science this year:

Our stats are pretty much identical; I had a 95% average overall through high school (which hilariously translates into a 4.0 UW GPA) and my SAT score was also 2300! I got a 770 on Math II and a 700 on French with Listening.

I also had meh ECs, the best two I had were the MUNK program at UofT and I coded and released my own iPhone app.

I didn’t get into UCB, however I was accepted to UCLA (UCB is statistically just 1% more selective than UCLA). Just for reference, I believe both CS and Chem Eng might be impacted majors…?

College admissions are usually a crapshoot, so although I believe you have a very competitive application for Berkeley there’s always a chance it might not work out due to the holistic application review process.

However, if you maintain your grades you will without a doubt get into UBC, McGill, SFU, and UofT. I was accepted to all Canadian universities that I applied to.

I wish you the best of luck.

hi! im a Canadian resident, but currently doing high school in India (CBSE) ,I want to do college at a top Canadian University, such as UBC U ofT or mcgill. i plan on studying computer engineering… my grade 9 and 10 marks are

Grade 10-CGPA 9.2/10
math B1
science A2
Social studies A2
English A1
French A1

Grade 9-CGPA 8.8/10
Math B2
science A2
social studies A2
French A2
English A2

mu grade 11 mark’s are pretty low, but as per all there websites they dont require them. Am i overly ambitious or are any of these Universities in my reach? pls help, and thnks in advance!

@superMIC Thanks so much for your reply! I think chem & cs are definetely more selective to get into, and I’m currently debating whether to apply to an easier major in the college of letters and science. UCLA & Canadian universities are fine by me though, so I’m glad those are somewhat solid
@jmathew034 Grade 9 & 10 marks dont affect admission, so you’ll have to see whether your 11/12 marks pull you up. UT & Mcgill both look primarily at grades, but their requirements aren’t ridiculously high either. If you have around a 93% avg, I think you’ll be fine ( this is from friends who got admitted into UT/ McGill this year)
