Intended major: COMPSCI
GPA:3.8
SAT:1730 (I know I could do better but it is what it is)
ACT:28 (Didn't have calculator so it lowered it significantly)
Math was my highest score on the SAT while it was lowest on my ACT.
I've taken 6 AP classes and plan to take STAT300 and DANCE431 at a community college.
Planning to take the MATH II and ENG II subject tests in december.
EC:Tennis for 3 years (singles), worked jobs for warehouse, worked 2 years for a small business balancing checkbooks etc, volunteered for various programs to help the community (PLAY/TILT/YAC), volunteered various times for Mongolian Naadam, Volunteered various times for an organization which unites Mongolians in the Sacramento/BayArea/SF region. I've danced for almost 3 years now (hip-hop/choreographed), 2nd place in talent show, leadership, and plan to create or join dance clubs in college (will try for large competitions like ABDC, WOD, etc).
I'm also a first generation Mongolian student and had a disadvantaged background (from constantly moving, abusive family, etc)
What are my realistic chances at the various UC's and CSU's?
I'll also chance back if I can.

Would saying I’m in the 0.0001% of players in League of legends help too? (joking, but maybe serious)

bump

Is the 3.8 your UC GPA? If so I would say this. You are in the 25th percentile for most for what mid-top tier most UCs admit, but your ECs are pretty decent.Because computer science is such a competitive major, it will be a lot harder for you to get in.

UCLA/UCB- Reach
UCD/UC Irvine/cal poly Low reach

are you challenger or something?

Oh and for the league thing. I thought about that too but despite being in in challenger/diamond tiers, I personally don’t think its worth mentioning unless you’ve won competitions.

@sxyaznryanchster Yes, 3.8 is my UC GPA. I also had pretty low grades in junior year because I was going through depression which I had to deal with myself because I’m not close to my family. (reason why I started playing league). And also should i go undeclared or COMPSCI? Which is better?

@sxyaznryanchster I’ve won some Victorious Gaming competitions but I don’t they are worth mentioning because those are held every day. I also thought about going pro but I realized that my chances of that working are about 0%.

I would say that UCLA and UCB are reaches, and CalPoly SLO/UCSD are low reaches. UCD/UCI are high matches, and UCSB is a match/high match.

By the way, are you challenger, master,… what? That sort of thing could honestly be something you could include in your ECs or additional info, especially if you are very talented at it. If you are Diamond 1+, you should definitely put that on your application. Heck, if you are in Diamond, it is a noteworthy accomplishment to at least mention in the additional information section. Use it to your advantage! It also shows that you are different and good at what you do, even if it is video games!

Could you please chance me back? Thank you!

I think it is easier to go in as undeclared, but you will have to do some work to switching into that competitive major later on.

@IAmTheGOAT Yes I was on my way to master (Currently D1 or D2 idk), but I stopped playing for a few months for the SAT/college apps etc. I might start again soon idk depends on my workload this year.

@sxyaznryanchster Define “work” later on? Do I have to maintain a high GPA in college for a transfer?

Yea to transfer, depending on the school, you are going to have to maintain a certain GPA and take the pre requisite courses. you can read about it here http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/transfer/preparation-paths/computer-science-majors/ucla-computer-science.html
