Background: I really want to go to UCLA! I live in Alabama, and I go to boarding school. I recently got into UT Austin, and I know that both UT and UCLA have out-of-state acceptance rates of 28%.
I’m a female, and I’m applying for civil engineering.

Weighted GPA: 4.7/5.0
Unweighted GPA: 3.7/4.0
SAT: 2080 Superscored (680 CR, 690 M, 720 W)
APs: Junior year: Calculus, Chemistry, US History, English Lang, Comp Sci,
Senior year: Stats, Physics, Biology, Spanish, English Lit

Activities:
-Interned in civil engineering lab last summer (I got paid)
-Interned with local business, did their marketing, created and managed their social media pages
-Varsity volleyball for 4 years, captain my senior year
-Club volleyball team for 7 years
-Varsity tennis for 4 years, region player of the year
-Secretary of GSA
-Yearbook committee for 4 years
-Did over 160 hours of community service, including with the Junior League
-Beta Club, 4 years
-National Honors Society, 3 years

I also was a National Merit Commended Scholar.

Your ECs are great and your SAT comes between the UCLA ranges but I think your UW GPA is a tad bit low. UCLA being such a competitive college, most students get in with a UW GPA of more than a 3.75, if you can work towards it and bring it up I think you’ve a good chance (if you write some good personal statements).

Is that your UC GPA? also you realize the UC’s dont weight honors courses and take only your best SAT, not a superscore, right?

My superscore is a 2060. All of the courses that I listed were AP, not honors. My school is one of the top in the country, so the lowest class offering they even have is honors, so I didn’t list them. And yes, that is my UC GPA!
