Already accepted to all Cal States so I have my safeties. thank you!
You should get into most of the UC’s because you meet their ACT score and you have good EC’s. Privates, especially Stanford are a reach for everyone so it’s really a gamble
Even UCLA? Bump!
Congrats on your acceptances to the CSU’s that you applied to. Regarding the UC’s that you are still waiting for, UCI, UCD, UCSC are matches for your GPA and test scores. Pacific is in that category as well.
Your GPA and test scores are too low for admission to UCLA, Stanford, Northwestern. Not to say it can’t happen, but highly unlikely.
I don’t know enough about BU and RPI to comment.
I only have knowledge on UCLA, and the one thing that I see is low is your GPA and test scores. I think you should stick to your ACT (no SAT) and the fact that your income is low helps. Hopefully you wrote a good essay, if all other UC’s schools are lower than UCLA I would say it seems like you have a good chance. I think Stanford is out of reach though…
Thanks! Bump!
BU and RPI admit, UCs admit, UCLA admit off the waitlist, rest rejected
BU and RPI yes, Northwestern and Stanford reject sorry, UPenn high high reach

UCLA’s ACT range is around 25-32 according to sources and UCSD’s is 23-30. Check out this applicant data profile for UCLA for last year’s applicants. It goes over the types of people who applied and who of those were admitted as well as all the average stats of the applicants:

Congrats on getting into the CSUs! The ACT you have is the one I would stick with rather than your SAT, and your URM status will really help you out. You have a decent shot at all of the UCs but UCLA is the least likely, although still possible. Northwestern would be hard to swing but I say go for it. UPenn is also difficult but along the same lines. BU and RPI should be doable and Stanford would be a HUGE Reach. Good Luck, thanks for the chance, and keep up the good work!

Your ACT score is pretty good but for high end schools like Stanford, it doesn’t match. Your Upward trend might be a good strength but that might be a gamble as top colleges look at GPAs higher than a 3.75.
Best of luck anyway, hope you get in

Congrats on the UC schools! I honestly have no idea about RPI…
I like the ECs and the 31 ACT is solid, but the GPA is on the low side for Stanford and the school is just so competitive that I would put it under a high reach.
Northwestern would be a reach as well, but definitely less than Stanford’s case. Being URM helps.
BU would be a good fit/match.
Thanks to all that replied! Bump!
Your GPA and SAT scores may be a little low for some of the privates and top-tier UCs. However, they may appreciate your upward trend, ECs, ethnicity, first-generation student, etc… I would say your safest school on the lsit is UCSC, though. Good luck ![]()
