UCLA, USC, UCSB, UCSD (I'm from NY)
I have a really horrible GPA, but my school is very prestigious and they do take into account that a grade of x here is worth more than a x elsewhere.
GPA: 3.0 UW (All my classes honors/AP) Also our school doesnt submit a gpa they give a transcript instead.
Senior year grades (not calculated in the gpa)
A physiology
A neuroscience medicine
A- AP comp sci
A- AB calc
A- physics
A- public speaking
ACT: 35 composite (35 eng, 34 math, 34 reading, 36 science, 31 combined essay/eng)
SAT II: 770 bio, 740 math II
Extracurrics good. not great not bad either.

PS. Will senior year grades be taken into account when deciding admissions?

Your test scores are wonderful (I’m jealous), but most of these schools are tough reaches because of your GPA. It also doesn’t help you that you are out of state. And senior grades will not be taken into account when deciding admissions, only after you’re admitted.

With a 35 on the ACT and great SAT IIs and AP scores, I think you should definitely be able to get into UCSB. And, like you said, they take it into account if you go to an especially competitive school. I think you should be able to get into UCSD! UCLA’s acceptance rate is only 22%, though, less than UC Berkeley… and USC’s is even lower… So I don’t know about those.
