Chance me? UCs, CMU, Stanford

Hello! I usually find these threads kind of annoying, but I just wanted some reassurance about my list. Currently, I'm applying to:

Stanford (probably won't get in, but might as well)

CMU (school of computer science)

Santa Clara University

UCs: Davis, San Diego, LA, Berkeley

I might add UPenn, Duke, and possibly MIT because their acceptance rate for girls is a lot higher, but I guess it just depends on how many extra essays that would require

GENERAL INFO:
- female, looking to study something related to math and science most likely
- caucasian
- high school: public, highly ranked
- from california

SCORES:
- ACT: 33 (33E, 36M, 31R, 30S)
- SAT: 2180 highest sitting, 2210 superscore (660 CR, 760M, 790W)
- Subject tests: 780 math 2, 770 chemistry
- GPA unweighted: 4.0
- GPA weighted: 4.4ish
- school doesn't do class rank
- AP Tests: Chem, Calc BC, and USH. Haven't gotten the scores back yet, but I'm pretty confident that these are 5s
- took the highest level of classes that my school offers (it doesn't offer too many AP classes)
- next year: AP stats/comp sci/physics b/lang/spanish language

EXTRA CURRICULARS:
- colorguard and winterguard captain junior and senior years (marched at obama's inaugural parade, macy's thanksgiving day parade, etc. takes up about 15-20 hours/week)
- dance outside of school (~4 hours/week, used to compete)
- school newspaper (section editor)
- spanish club treasurer
- organized school blood drives for school
- mentor to freshmen during junior/senior years
- 100+ hours of community service

Thanks!

Honestly, prob. not Stanford. I think your academics are good, but idk about ECs. Just out of curiosity, why haven’t you done math/science clubs/activities (ex.: FIRST robotics, Science Olympiad, Math Club, etc.) if you’re interested in them?

Stanford and SCS are reaches; feasible, but unlikely. I say this mostly because your ECs don’t demonstrate a particular interest (esp. an academic one)/don’t set you apart from other applicants. I reckon that being a girl will help you at SCS, but aside from that, you’re just gonna have to try to do awesome on your essays for those two.

The rest are quite feasible. I see SCU and all the UCs accepting you (maybe save Berkeley). As for your potential additions, I’m again wary just because of your ECs. I don’t mean to demoralize; they’re not completely out of reach, but I just think you’re in the situation where top schools like that are all going to be uncertain, but more improbable than probable.

If you like CMU but aren’t sure about comp sci, maybe consider some of the other schools there. CIT and MCS are still pretty hard to get into, but they’re definitely easier. 2011-2012, SCS had an acceptance rate of about 11%; CIT and MCS were at 24% and 25%, respectively.
