Honestly, yes you are on the edge. It could go either way. Have you done an interview? Also, do you have other options that you could be happy with and can afford?

It is becoming increasingly difficult to accurately predict ones chances for acceptance to UD because of the steadily increased level of competition for OOS students. While I do agree that to some degree you are on the “edge” for acceptance IMHO there are some things that are definately in your favor. Your overall GPA is certainly in the neighborhood of many students accepted. Your steadily increasing GPA (especially the 3.9 your Jr. year) should really impress UD. Hopefully you got very good to excellent grades in your courses in the first semester of your Sr. year. This might be the critical factor. Your SAT M/CR combined total of 1230 is at the level of the average of the students who decided to attend UD in the class of 2016. UD puts a great emphasis on Advanced Courses (AP/Honors etc.) a student takes in HS and looks very closely at the grades students get in these Advanced Courses. Hopefully you got very good to excellent grades in your AP/Honors courses. Your EC’s are also very good. So what is the bottom line? IMHO if you got very good grades in your Advanced Courses and did very well the first semester of your SR. year then the scales are tipped much more in your favor for admission. Obviously there are no guarantees. Again these are my perspectives. Others might feel differently. I wish you the best of luck.
