[ *] SAT I (breakdown): 680 Math 650 Reading (1330) my test are so weak…it is honestly so frustrating and I keep retaking them and the score just won’t go up…ugh
[ *] ACT: too bad to even list
[ *] SAT II: 710 on Bio M (will be taking Math 2 and Lit soon)
[ *] Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.98
[ *] Weighted GPA: 5.6/6.0 4.6/5.0

(a-e is passing, a u means the exam was failed…capital scores denotes a second year (A Level) in the course)
[ *] Senior Year Course Load: AP Lit, AP Calc AB, AP Physics, AP Euro, AP Drawing, AP Gov, AP Micro
[ *] Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): Meh I mean I got the thinking skills award and top 2% and stuff like that but nothing outside of school…I got a distinguished secretary rank for Key Club? I now have my AICE diploma which means I am a Cambridge scholar and now have Florida Bright Futures, I have a couple AP designations and am working towards the AP international title.

[ *] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): I served as a class director and secretary in Key Club between freshman to junior year. In April I was installed as my Division’s Lieutenant Governor (which means I now manage 13 high school’s Key Clubs and attend a multitude of leadership trips/workshops…I love it so much), I have been volunteering in the ER and Trauma Center for nearly two years (such an amazing experience the nurses have taught me so much), will be interning at Cleveland Clinic this summer for rotations (3 weeks), am the coordinator for Palm Beach County Youth Red Crosses and have just started my own chapter in my city, I am the past secretary and now president of National English Honor Society, treasurer of National Art Honor Society, committee chair of Medical Honor Society, and member of NHS. I’m not even gonna list more menial clubs I just joined for fun lol.
[ *] Job/Work Experience: I volunteer too much to work
[ *] Volunteer/Community service: Oh boy ok my life revolves around Key Club and the Trauma Center where I have volunteered in total of like 700 hours?
[ *] Personal Statement: I am bilingual! Fluent in Turkish as both my parents are from Turkey! My scores suck though so I am really discouraged…I have tried so much tutoring but nothing. I can solve calculus problems but when it comes to basic SAT questions I guess I cannot do it.
[ *] Letter of Recommendations: They’ll be from the nurses I work with and teachers I am close to.

[ *] State (if domestic applicant): Florida
[ *] School Type: Competitive public

[ *] Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): I am trying to get a couple of people to take notice of some research and ideas I am passionate about. I am a first generation American from my family.

[ *] Strengths: ECs I guess…the amount of AP I have taken
[ *] Weaknesses: SAT SCORESSSSS

I also have proven to be a good writer through my countless 10+ on my ACT writing scores…yet my actual score sucks

You are in the top 2% of a large public high school in Florida and your SAT is just a little below the mean. You have a really good chance. From what I have seen, UF values grades and course rigor more than test scores, and your SAT does not eliminate you. Write a compelling essay and you have a really good chance.

I think you have an excellent chance, though no one is ever a lock with holistic admissions at UF. As was said, make sure you write a good essay. It’s not too late to work on your test scores as you can take it again in the Fall and UF superscores the SAT. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Thank you!

I will thank you all!
