It actually comes out the Friday of Thanksgiving holiday over the past years. Last year applications went up 25% for EA and they still managed to get it done by then. Applications are up again 1000 applications which I think was a surprise given that test scores are required, and they weren’t last year. Regardless my guess would still be the same Friday after Thanksgiving tradition. That is less than six weeks from the submission date, and unlike Michigan and other schools they don’t defer applicants without reading.
And yes the UGA admissions office will recalculate every applicants GPA based on the transcript submitted. I suggest you start reading the UGA admissions blog because it is extremely helpful. Also read the comments to the blog because many questions are answered there and much critical information is included!

How do you get a GPA of 5.4?
Different high schools use different weighting methods. That is why UGA recalculates all GPAs using their stated calculation… so they can compare apples to apples. Many schools do this, but not all are as transparent about it as UGA.
