I know my HS record/ACT score isn't fantastic, but that's what I wrote my essay on. I originally never even had a plan to go to college, but entire view on my education has changed. I owned up to my mistakes and high school and made up for it my first semester o f college.

Also, I am in-state.

What do you think my chances are to transfer?

I think you’re right Massgurl, I believe they will focus more on your performance in university than in high school. Admissions officers will understand your attitude when you were younger, especially if you hold yourself accountable for it in your essay. I think you have a good chance of being accepted at UMass Amherst - make sure you continue to keep in contact with transfer officers to let them know you’re excited to enroll there!

I’m going in as undecided. At the school I’m at now I am a double major, marketing/management, but I have considered accounting. I talked to a woman in the transfer office who said I could take the courses needed to get into Isenberg at Umass, as my school doesn’t offer them.
