Hi! Thanks for chancing me!

I think that you definitely are matched with UMiami. Your grades seem to be fine. Raising that SAT score to 2100 would definitely help you out, especially with merit aid. I’m not sure exactly how they award merit aid, so I can’t chance you too much on that.

Overall, your chances are great, I wouldn’t worry about it too much! Good luck!

Have some more schools I’d like chanced for. Will chance back!

UVA OOS
William and Mary OOS
Northeastern
Boston U
West Virginia (legacy, could I get full tuition?)
GWU

Link to yours? The others?

I’m not familiar enough with the others. UVA is a reach though. I don’t har a chance thread right now

You definitely have a great shot at U of Miami, especially with EA. I’m not sure about your chances at financial aid, since your income level is so high.

Boosting your SAT a little would help your application a lot, along with high scores in the SATIIs. What stood out the most to me when reading your post is your internship at the Senate, which is a very unique and cool experience. With a good essay and a retake of standardized tests, I think your application would be competitive with many other applicants’.

Thanks. Do you have a thread for me to chance back?

Your grades look great for UMiami! The things that stood out the most to me were your internship and sports. The internship is impressive, and UMiami’s going to love the sports. I think you’re a pretty solid match and will get some merit aid! Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1540541-what-my-chances-cornell-ill-chance-you-back-if-youd-like.html

i think you will probably get in, but i dont think you will get that much merit aid. Its not like you can consider it a safety, but you will most likely get in. good luck!

chance back?
if you want to guarantee one of the 3, i would say cornell ed. if you want to take a 50/50 shot i say do the stanford SCEA(my guess is that you will get in). Just saying, if cornell isnt your top choice, dont apply ed to it. good luck!

chance back?

lol my b. you already chance me. sorry, its a habit

Thanks, and no problem.

Were the Stanford and Cornell suggestions for me? I would need a miracle to get into those.

I didn’t know too much about UMiami, so I just looked it up. And from what I’ve read so far, it seems like you’ll definitely have no problem getting in. And with your good academic background and the strong EC (sports), I’d say you could probably get merit aid from them. Are you only looking to go to UMiami? Because from your stats, I’d say you could do a lot better! Well, good luck!

Lol all the other options are scattered throughout the thread. I didn’t think this through when I made the thread.

Some schools I’d be interested in are USC, NYU, Georgetown, and Boston College. But they’re all hard to get into.

I love THE U :]

You can probably get in. UM looks for students like you (really good students whose stats are just shy of the crazy stats of Ivy Leaguers/Top 10 National University kids) that are looking for a great school they can actually get into. I think you have no problem getting in. No idea about Merit Aid though. I assume you’ll get a pretty good FA deal though.

Thanks! That’s exactly why The U is my top school.

I will likely get 0 need-based with my family’s income of $300,000 /yr. It would have to be through merit if I got any.

You’re a good match. I think you’ll get some kind of merit aid.

Yeah I can almost guarantee you won’t get any need-based aid. But you have a pretty rockstar application so you should get good Merit Aid.
