With your SAT scores and GPA, Miami would be a solid match for you. Getting your SAT score up to 2100 would definitely make you a solid applicant there.

As of now, I would say USC is a reach for you, based on the middle 50% data for accepted applicants. UNC and UVA would be low reach schools.

As of right now you’re probably a match for Umiami, but if you get your sat to around 2050+ you’ll be a candidate for merit aid. Umaryland should be a safety for you.

You are like the ideal U Miami student!
I think 1950 is about the average, so if you want merit aid, I would suggest trying to get those scores at 2100+ as many people already mentioned.

As for BC, NYU, and USC - it all depends on what you want to major in. For example, the business schools will likely be more difficult to get into than the CAS.

Georgetown will honestly be a reach for anyone under 2200. I don’t recall Georgetown’s EA policy exactly, but can’t you apply EA to Miami as well as Georgetown? Best of luck!

PS: I had heard that if you can significantly improve your GPA and SATs in the first semester of senior year, you should apply regular rather than early because your resume looks a whole lot better, even if you don’t apply EA. Just a thought…

Yes, Georgetown is not SCEA, but, you can not apply ED to any other school.

Economics is usually in the CAS, so that’s good. For Miami, I will apply to the economics program in the business school.

I know my schedule for next year now and I’m taking 4 APs and honor’s physics. Hopefully I can up my gpa some. I know I will up my SAT and take the ACT.

You don’t have to worry about U Miami, in my humble opinion. But if you want significant merit aid (I think you will get some with your stats), try raising those SAT scores as everyone else has suggested. And you seem to be working on that anyways, which is great!

^No idea… I stopped bumping up my thread a while ago, and now it’s at like 75 posts; I’ve gotten a lot of similar feedback, so I think it’s time to retire my thread. This thread is a good candidate for that, too.
