Chance me? UMich CoE **Hypothetical**

Hello,

I am a 17-year-old college freshman at a local community college. I did not do well in high school (2.0-ish GPA) I wasn’t driven, but I am doing better now. I would like to see my chances of getting into the University of Michigan (CoE) if I get the following stats. I would like to earn an aerospace engineering degree from U of M, if I get in. Transfer as a sophomore, possibly winter semester

GPA: 3.85
ACT: 28 (Planning on retaking)
Credits: 35 transferable / 47 total (after the first academic year)

Race: Mixed White-Latino/Black
Home state: MI
Income: 65k

Extracurriculars:

Editor for my school newspaper

Founder/leader of a club that has to do with community service
-Attend 3-5 clubs, Math & Physics, Chemistry, Robotics, etc.
-100+ volunteer hours

Phi Theta Kappa (honor society)

Part-time job

Recommendations: working on them, will have by transfer time

Again, this mixed information based on my current stats and what I hope to have by the end of the academic year. Please do not sugar-coat anything, give it to me straight. Thank you.

@Hey1tsme do not retake act. They will not accept it and tell you not to take it again. They only want the one from hs.

@Hey1tsme what’s your course load? Will you have an associates? How many gen eds will you have completed. I know a lot of students who took courses at cc, but they did not transfer to UofM.

@Arsenalfan245 By the end of my freshman year I will have done everything on this the list above except: Math 116, Math 215, Math 216, PHY 240, PHY 241L. Plus ive completed 6 credits in SS, 6 credits in HU and some electives. I’m pretty sure that those are the prerequisites for people normally transferring as junior, and I’ll be attempting to transfer as a sophomore.
