Chance me (UMichigan) for a chance back!

Do you guys think I have a good shot for the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor?
I applied regular decision just now to the College of Literature, Sciences, and the Arts.

GPA: 94.5 U/W (The good part is that my GPA went up every year from freshman-junior) I also did even better in senior year than Junior year.

Rank: 54/307 (Top 18%)

SAT: 1840: 700 Math, 630 Writing (11 Essay), 510 CR

ECs: Key Club, International Culture Club, Spanish Club, Orchestra, Mathletes/Senior High Mathletes, Red Cross Club, National Junior/Senior Honor Society, Foreign Language Honor Society, Vice President of my church's youth group.

Volunteering: LIJ Hospital (250 Hours), Bolivia Mission Trips (2 Years in a row), Alter Service

Work: Worked an Accounting Firm over the summer

Awards: National Junior Honor Society- Won Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medal.
-St. Michael's Book Award for Volunteerism and Leadership
-Academic Excellence Award

Recommendation Letters: Very Strong.
Essay: Pretty strong / Shows character.

Supplements: They were decent.

Good Chances, especially if your GPA translates over 3.7/3.8.

Ann Arbor has an avg gpa of 3.8 and avg SAT of 1992 so as long as your in that range your good. I think you have a good chance. GOOD LUCK!!

You definitely have a chance! Hospital hours are always appreciated.

I honestly can’t relate to that gpa and I use the ACT :stuck_out_tongue: but I know a guy who had a 26 and 3.8 gpa who got in. Also a 24 and 4.0 who got in. I don’t think its particularly selective. Whereas engineering is, I got deferred from the engineering :

Can anyone else chance me? I’ll definitely chance back if needed.

Your SAT score is slightly low but I think you got a good shot.

I’m probably going to stick to LAS for economics if I don’t get into Ross by Sophomore year. Do you guys think an economics degree from UMich LAS is respected?

Can anyone else chance me? I’ll chance back.

I think you have a decent shot, not a particularly good one though. GPA is decent, and SAT is a little weak. UM is getting more and more selective since they’ve switched to the CA. Are you a Michigan resident? (I am assuming you are not since you aren’t reporting an ACT score) OOS would make it particularly difficult for you to get in. You’ve got a good chance if you wrote good essays and have good LOR, so keep your hopes up but make sure you have other options available just in case. That’s my opinion.

MY LOR are extremely strong and my essays are pretty strong because it shows character and what kind of person I am.

Can anyone else chance me for a chance back?

Bump 10 chars.

I think you have a good chance. Your SAT is a bit low, but your GPA will probably make up for it, assuming you took a fairly rigorous courseload. Colleges LOVE to see upwards trends. Your EC’s are pretty good and if your LOR’s and essays are strong, I’d say you’re in. I don’t know much about the Econ dept at Mich but I know it’s a really good public school (one of the best in the country, Public Ivy) so I would assume it’s pretty prestigious. Good luck!
chance me back plz? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1269887-chance-me-please-ill-def-chance-back.html

Bump 10 char.

Can anyone chance me for a chance back?

It depends. I f you’re in-state, it’d be a match school and a likely admit, if you’re out of state, it’s more like a low reach but very possible, since you have such good community service, work, ECs, etc. .

Chance back?
