Chance me: UNC Chapel Hill vs Clemson

Hi! I am currently a high school junior and I would love someone’s analysis on how likely I am to getting into these schools. I’m actually leaning towards Clemson right now becuase I fell in love with the campus and overall feel. However, I live in NC near Charlotte, so out of state tuition is crazy high for my family, but we still don’t qualify for financial aid. I also really like Chapel Hill but I know it is so hard to get into. (I’m a Caucasian female by the way)

-test scores:
ACT- 31
SAT- don’t have scores back yet, but I feel like I did a little better than the ACT

-classes:
freshman yr- honors geometry, honors english 1, honors bio, honors world history, spanish 2, art
sophomore yr- honors trig, honors english 2, honors chem, AP earth science, honors civics, honors spanish 3, art
junior yr- honors pre calc, honors english 3, AP psych, AP bio, American history 1 & 2 (duel enrollment at a community college), honors physics, honors art
senior yr- planning to take all honors classes and 3 APs

I have gotten all A’s for every class so far, so my weighted GPA for all 3 years combined is around a 4.85, I’m not sure what it would be unweighted

Extracurriculars:
-Varsity cheer (all of high school)
-summer swim team
-coach summer swim team (job)
-ifegaurd (job)
-coach a cheerleading team (volunteer)
-National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, and Art Honor Society
-editor of the sports page in Media Club
-ambassador for a girls leadership/service organization
-active in church youth group and sunday school leader
-100 service hours each year
I am part of other clubs (beta club & spirit club) but if I don’t hold any leadership positions are they worth mentioning?

I would LOVE to get a scholarship to Clemson so out of state tuition is cheaper, anything I can do to make that happen? Also thoughts on my chances of even getting in there or at Capel Hill?
Thanks so much!

If you keep up your grades (which by the way are fantastic) you have a good shot at UNC especially instate and maybe a 10,000 or so a year scholarship at Clemson which would bring the cost of attendance there to around 36,000 a year

Here’s info regarding scholarship opportunities at Clemson

@blueguy99 @carolinamom2boys thank you both so much!

Good luck @carolinagrl

I think you’ll get in both and probably a $15k scholarship to Clemson. The scholarships are contingent upon you keeping your GPA up all four years however. Good luck and let us know what happens.
