chance me :)...UNC Chapel Hill

GPA: Weighted: 4.0
Unwieghted: 3.5

(out of 4) my school does not do that crazy weighting system that boosts the gpa by a full point....you would have to take all ap's since freshmen year for that to happen).

i've been all honors/ap courses (4 ap) throughout high school.

i plan on taking 3-4 ap's next year.

i'm only a junior, but i want to know what my chances would be if i applied today.

I got a 29 on the act without studying and i'm planning on taking it again (with studying)
34 on english
31 on writing
26 on science
29 on reading
28 on math
or something like that...this was from memory

i live in south florida.

Extracurriculars: Varsity CREW freshman year, Varsity Football sophomore year, Varsity Volleyball sophomore year, Varsity Soccer Junior year, expecting Varsity Volleyball again this year (Junior), president of my advisory since for 2 years, secretary of Green Team (an environmental protection club at my school), around 50-60 service hours so far, i have held a job at a construction site for two summer's in a row, charity work in Latin America over the summer, National Honors Society, Science National Honors Society, History National Honors Society, i tutor for the school

On the two AP tests i have taken so far i got 4's (World History AP & Psychology AP) and i'm expecting a 5 on Human Geography AP this year and a 3-4 on American History AP.

I can get letters of recommendation from the founder of Keiser University and Nova-Southeastern University (family friends) as well as a teacher i have had many years who is on the board of administration at Dartmouth.

My high school is a top private school in Florida and i am told that colleges take that into consideration and boost the GPA a little

You look very solid to me! :)

You can chance yourself by looking through a school’s Common Data Set. Here is the one for UNC-CH: [Common Data Set - Office of Institutional Research and Assessment](http://oira.unc.edu/facts-and-figures/data-summaries-and-publications/common-data-set.html)

You will find that your unweighted GPA puts you in the bottom 5% of admitted students and your ACT scores are only about the midpoint. UNC-CH is limited by state law to only admit 18% of the class from out of state which makes the out of state competition to get in even greater than the averages listed in the common data set. I don’t want to be a wet blanket, but as an out of state applicant you will likely need to improve both your grades and test scores to have a good chance of getting in. You still have time, so work hard and make sure that you have a good range of schools that you apply to. Good luck!
