Essays: Common App essay was about how I initially did fantasy football because of family tradition and failed miserably my first year but the losses taught me about perseverance and that not everyone “rides a bike” on their first try. Also wrote a bit about my little-known work as a fantasy football writer on the side as well.

@ashleykaiser UGA EA decisions were released on Nov 22nd; did you not receive an admissions decision, or were you deferred?

Stats are great but only 5 ap classes in four years will be a negative unless your school doesn’'t offer many.

So far so good on the stats. The list is a bit reach-heavy, but it’s still pretty solid, considering that you have 3 good in-state schools on the list. And it looks like you might have a scholarship too. Good job! Choosing a college comes down to cost more than anything else. Good luck!

Sorry, I forgot to update the list to reflect my decision! I was actually admitted to UGA with automatic Honors College and a Classic Scholars waiver.

I am taking another 2 this year, would those count?

Yes, those will count but you went from 4 to 2… that is really the only sore thing that stood out, otherwise your app looks great. Also, even though Asians dominate pre-med, I think you will stand out as unique for pursuing sports medicine. Obviously UVA, Vanderbilt (basically ivies) and UPenn (a literal ivy) will be reaches, but I think you have a pretty decent shot. Congrats on UGA.

I think that you have a good chance at Vanderbilt and U Penn and I would not be surprised if you are accepted at all others.

I think that you have a good list, and it sounds like you are already in at a very good school. Congratulations!

Given that you are premed, then definitely take your finances into consideration and budget for a full eight years (the last four of which will be expensive). Any of the schools on your list will have a strong premed program, with many strong and very competitive students in your classes.

Thank y’all so much for your responses! @XtremeBlaze777 @tgl2023 @DadTwoGirls
