I am sorry but you are going to get denied from UF. Your test scores are very low as well as your GPA.

You posted earlier this month:
I am going to a community college first and than transferring to a university after my first year.

Has something changed?

Your test scores are about the 30th percentile overall – well below average. You should speak w/your guidance counselor about nearby and affordable schools that will be likely matches for you. Independently, you can google “common data set, college X” and pull up stats of admitted students at various colleges. Look at section C of the Common Data sets.

Your ACT score is not good enough for UF

Your GPA and SAT are far below average, so you will most likely be denied from both colleges.

University of Florida:

[OLD SAT]
SAT Critical Reading: 25h Percentile: 580||75th Percentile: 670
SAT Math: 25th Percentile: 590 || 75th Percentile: 690
SAT Writing: 25th Percentile: 570 || 75th Percentile: 670

Average 25th Percentile OLD SAT: 1740/2400
Average 25th Percentile NEW SAT: 1250/1600

Your SAT is near 10th Percentile, unfortunately.

Average Weighted GPA: 25th Percentile: 4.0 || 75th Percentile: 4.4

Your GPA is too low below 25th Percentile.

University of South Florida:

[OLD SAT]
SAT Critical Reading|| 25th: 530 || 75th: 620
SAT Math: 25th: 540 || 75th: 630
SAT Writing: 25th: 510 || 75th: 600

Average 25th Percentile OLD SAT: 1580/2400
Average 25th Percentile NEW SAT: 1140/1600

Your SAT is still very poor for this college, unfortunately.

Average Weighted GPA: 3.90
Percent of applicants with a GPA of 3.25-3.74: 30.6%

Your GPA is far below average GPA and only about 30% of students who got in had a GPA ranging from 3.25 to 3.74.

Unfortunately, you will have to give up on those two selective schools. In addition, you have taken only 1 AP course in high school, when both colleges take the rigor of courses very important, so your chances of being accepted will only go down more.

If you still insist, then you can apply to those colleges, but do not have high hopes about them, as you there will be lot more competitive applicants in your regions.

I don’t know much about USF but UF will be a high reach imo.

@ClarinetDad16 I don’t know. My parents do not want me to give up on a university.
@HardOREasy I have only taken one AP class because I was taking college classes instead of. I did not want to waste my time in a class for a year when I could get it done in 6 months.

I have come to the conclusion that I guess I’m not college ready. I don’t test well. But thank you everyone for your help! :slight_smile:

@sweetcandybell I would not give up on college maybe just alter your list of schools. You have passed college courses with dual enrollment so that should help. Look at fgcu and unf. They may be a good fit for you
