Hi! I’m a senior and I’m applying Regular Decision to University of Notre Dame (College of Science). What do you guys think my chances of getting in are?

GPA: 3.86/4.0 (School doesn’t rank, but at least Top 5%)
SAT: One sitting: 780W, 800M, 700CR; Super-scored: 780W, 800M, 720CR
SAT Subject Tests: 770 (Math I), 720 (Chemistry)

Senior Year Core Classes: AP Lit, AP Spanish, AP Psychology, AP Calculus AB, AP Biology
Junior Year Core Classes: AP Chemistry, AP Lang, AP US History II (my school breaks up APUSH into two years), Precalculus AB Honors, Biology Honors, Spanish 4 Honors
Sophomore Year Core Classes: Chemistry Honors, English 10 Honors, Algebra II and Trig Honors, AP US History I, Ap Gov, Spanish 3 Honors
Freshman Year Core Classes: Physics Honors, English 9 Honors, Geometry Honors, World Studies Honors, Spanish 2 CP

Weaknesses: I got straight A’s except for sophomore year; I struggled a little sophomore year and got B+'s in AP Gov, AP US History I, Algebra II and Trigonometry Honors, and Chemistry Honors. I feel like this will really hurt my chances.

I think that you have an excellent chance. Your SATs are at about 75th percentile, and the fact that you are in the top 5% of your school means a lot, as ND pays a lot of attention to class rank (or claims to). Even though you made some Bs sophomore year, you still committed to some really rigorous courses, and I think that they will like that, too. Your extracurrics are right where they need to be, in my opinion.

Seeing as those couple of Bs only occurred during your sophomore year and you bounced back with As in much more rigorous classes, I think that you have a pretty decent chance.
