Hey everybody, I've always wanted to enjoy admission to the University of Texas at Austin and I'd like to know my chances to get accepted. First off, I go to this ridiculous school that has way too much competition but thats beside the point. On my SAT I got a 2000 with:

660 Critical Reading
720 Math
620 Writing

My class rank was right at 23% in my class with a 4.5 weighted GPA. I will have taken 7 AP classes/tests [and likely passed them all]. I have a part time job with 10 hrs a week, and I have been on varsity tennis[number one all four years]. So my question is: what are my chances getting into UT Austin?

WOW! If you went to my school, you would easily rank in the top 5%. But I think your GPA definitely compensates for your slightly below-average SAT scores, so I would give you a 70% chance out of state, 95% in state. Consider Rice if you can afford it.

Do you live in Texas? The only problem with them is that they take a lot of instate people. I got into their McCombs School of Business this year and im from Texas.

you have a good chance of getting in. It depends on what youre majoring in though. It will be tougher if its Engineering or Business because they take a lot of top 10% people

yeah Im SO against the 10% rule because its so stupid. Like my school is pretty competitive. But if the people at my school who arent in top 10 went to another school they would all probably be in top 10% its just stupid. If you live in Texas you have a high chance
