My Essays should be pretty good, as well as my letter of recommendations.

Please let me know if you think I have a chance! Thanks!

I dont know if it makes a difference… but it’s actually a 101.89 GPA

What’s your unweighted GPA? Honestly, I think you have an excellent chance.

unweighted i’m assuming would be about a 98/99… not sure because the school doesn’t report it but weighting really doesnt make much of a difference because the only weighted classes are in junior and senior year.

bump, anyone?

I think what you really mean is: “will I stand out?”

If you’ve been around this site, you’ll find that you’re stats are among the mid-high range for top schools. This doesn’t guarantee admission - 2400 SATs and 4.0 GPAs get rejected every year. In your case, your science study stands out. You should concentrate on that to improve your chances.

In terms of chances - yes, you are a viable candidate

Will you stand out - that’s up to you (and your application)

thanks!
I don’t really know how I can make myself stand out anymore with science, considering I feel like I’m really doing all that I can do. I spent my entire summer doing research and my lab internship at CSHL requires a minimum of 12 hours per week so it truly does consume a lot of my time. Also, when I’m not in the lab I’m home writing papers on my research to submit to competitions.

Hopefully the Penn admissions committee will recognize this and will think it adds potential… hopefully?

If anybody else has a chance opinion, that would be great.
I really came down to Penn and WashU, but the cons of WashU made me bump it down to second choice. I love Penn so much but I really don’t know what I can do to make myself stand out!

If anybody wants to see my commonapp and whypenn essays please private message me so that I can have your input!

Sorry to be completely irritating and bump again, but… BUMP!

I don’t mean to be so neurotic, but with ED deadlines approaching soon, I need to know if I am being silly in applying ED to a school that I am really unlikely to get into. Of course I’m aware that with such a low acceptance rate, it is “unlikely” for anyone to get in, but I think you guys know what I mean.

Also, I’m from Long Island, so I dont know if that would lessen/increase my chances!

Those are very competitive stats for Penn ED. No one can assure you of admission but you should not feel like you are a long shot for Penn ED.

Ok great. Anybody else have any opinions?
Only 34 days until the application is due, hence my anxiety and irritating persistence in this thread.

bump, please!

BUMP please!

Any chance suggestions would be great. Really any input at all would be wonderful!
I’m so anxious about this application process and really any words of advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

wah, chance threads suck with feedback.

Wow you’re definitely a strong Penn candidate! Just write good essays :)

haha i’ll try my best! thanks!

bump anyone?

Definitely a strong competitor! :)

I can definitely understand your anxiety, for me, UF is less than a month away. Just don’t worry so much that you lose focus, and if you see an opportunity to at all better your chances (even if it’s just a little bit) do it.

Destroy on the essay, and I wouldn’t see much a chance of you not getting in. My school doesn’t even offer IB, has very few kids taking the AP route, and no one’s curing cancer but we’ve sent quite a few kids there in the last few years.

Good luck!

hahaha thank you so much!
and dont worry about UF, youre more than qualified!

Again, very qualified. I assume your unweighted GPA is close to 4, so you’re certainly good. Unfortunately we can’t say match for most Ivies, but you have an equal shot and a good shot compared to the rest.

I think you’ll get in.
