Chance Me? UPenn ED, UChicago EA, Columbia RD, and others?

^^ The way things are going, in 20+ years at top schools legacy will boost admissions from 2% to 4% so not having it won’t mean much lol.

Lower sat but fairly decent profile - worth applying!

I may be wrong here, but my perception is that scogal2 is trying to discourage the OP on UChicago- profs too cerebral, brutal grade curve, no legacy, weed out classes… What is really going on here? All schools will have bummer things about them. Poor kid is just trying to celebrate his acceptance and someone is raining on his parade.

@Toshka Lol look at the above posts.

@sgopal2 I am not going to base where I go to college based on where I might have legacy.

@goingnutsmom It’s fine. He didn’t go to UChicago, all those things are based on hearsay. I’m confident that based on what I’ve heard from current students and what I know from my own experience that I’ll be going to a great place.

Will be attending the University of Chicago Class of 2020!

I realized that I had all my priorities messed up when applying to college. I was paying more attention to name than I should have, and not where I would be most happy, and so I am really thankful it turned out the way it did. Never apply anywhere ED just because you think it might help you get in. It could lead to something really really bad. Good luck everyone!
