The schools you have listed are all reaches, even for strong students with great stats/ECs. Are you applying to any match schools? An affordable safety as well?
Are you applying ED or EA to any schools? Planning to send only one subject test to Georgetown?
Georgetown still highly recommends 3 subject tests.
You listed all reach schools. You are in the ball park but the odds aren’t great. Also remember that for state schools, OOS applicants are at a disadvantage.
Be sure to have solid match and safeties on your list.
The only decent schools on your list are UPenn and Georgetown – these are reaches for you. The rest are diploma mill safety schools – I suggest applying to more reaches.
I agree that while your stats are good and there is nothing wrong with applying to the schools you listed, you need some safeties that you’d be happy with as well. OOS students have a much lower chance of being admitted to large state schools than in state so their admission statistics are misleading!
I do have a couple of safeties like Rutgers – New Brunswick (so I’m in-state) and I’m also applying to UNC and Northeastern. My only fear is that because I’m out of state in most of my colleges I won’t get in ):
I don’t know if I should send my SAT subject test scores to Georgetown because I got a 700 on physics and chemistry which is not that hot. Should I take the risk and send them anyway just so they know that I took three?
I lean towards sending all three…thought being that they are ‘highly recommended’ and the two 700s are better than only sending one…but people’s opinions will differ on this. What does your GC say?
Agree Rutgers is highly likely and not to pile on but UNC (assuming chapel hill) and Northeastern are both reaches, UNC OOS acceptance rate is in the low-med teens, Northeastern’s was 18% last year. If those are your only other three schools, you should add some matches.
OOPS didn’t mean UNC and Northeastern were safeties LOL. You’re right the oos acceptance rate is so high):
I’m applying to Indiana (Bloomington) too, but Kelley School of Business (I’m assuming that decreases my chances lol). Would that be considered a safety? I’m thinking I can get in there but I dunno for sure
Honestly, I’m thinking if I don’t get into any of these reaches I’ll go to Rutgers because it’s a good school w a lot of business opportunities and I definitely think I can get in (especially bc I’m in-state)
Remember that the UC’s do not fund non-residents regardless of how good your stats are. There is no financial aid.
Look at paying $65k per year without any scholarships.
