<p>I was just wondering what my chances are at getting into these schools. I'm from NY and go to a below average public HS</p>

<p>Grades-3.7 UW GPA 3.9 W
8 Honors
5 APs
2300 SAT</p>

<p>ECs-Job at snack shop since freshman year
Basketball-4 years including 3 years as captain
Track- 4 Years including 1 year as captain
Football-2 years
Marching Band- 4 years including 2 as sectio leader and 1 as VP (My high school has an extremely prestigious marching band known across the country)
4 years Italian club, 1 year as president
3 years of student senate, 1 as president
Volunteer work at hospital for 3 years
Volunteer work at elementary school basketball program for three years
VP of class 2 years</p>

<p>I think that you have a very good chance at NYU, and Miami, Santa Barbara.
You go to a below average school, you might be the smartest, giving you a high rank, plus excellent SAT’s.

<p>Yes all three of them are in the original post, track, football and basketball. Thanks for your input. Do you know anything about USC?</p>

<p>If you write personal essays and have great recs, then I’d be surprised if you don’t get into at least 3 of those schools.</p>

<p>UCSB: In, hands down.
Miami: Low target; you’ll almost definitely be in here.
USC: Target; if you don’t need help paying for it I could see you fitting in well.
NYU: Target, although this is a school where the athletic EC’s will carry very little weight.</p>
