Looking to get into Computer Engineering

UW GPA: 3.91
School doesn’t give class rank to students or colleges. To hazard a guess top 20 would be pretty reasonable (out of 300)
New SAT: Math: 750, Reading & Writing: 660, Subject Test scores incoming for Math II and Physics
Taking SAT again at the beginning of senior year, same with ACT(1st time)
APs: BC Calc-5 (5 Subscrore), Environmental Science- 4, Physics C: Mechanics: 3

Extracurriculars
Year Round Swimming (Club+Highschool) for 7+ years, Varsity every year of highschool, Captain this incoming year. Not looking to swim in college though

Volunteering: tutoring this summer and during the school year, have done some timing at swim meets over the last couple years but nothing substantial there

My list: Those listed above are my top 3, looking for suggestions but so far my list is those 3 and Carnegie Mellon (as a reach), Purdue, University of Washington. Suggestions for schools that I have a good chance with and with a tuition of under 40k or so.

Thanks!

I also want to add that I’m in Washington State. I was wondering how that would affect my ability to get into UT specifically as that’s looking like the school that I would most like to go to.

Being OOS hurts you a lot at UT. By law they’re required to take 75% of their class automatically from the top 7% in Texas public high schools. Once you pass that threshold you’re a review admit. As an OOS applicant you’ll be competing against other OOS students and internationals for the few remaining slots. Many of these students are applying to engineering or business and have great test scores and grades as well. Your grades and SAT make you competitive, but it’s most likely a low reach.

Yeah that’s my biggest fear regarding my acceptance. I think I can be competitive enough, especially with (hopefully) better SAT scores. Any thoughts on my other schools?
