I'm interested in attending these schools for engineering but I don't know if I'll get in. I'm not too worried about VCU but all of my peers say UVA is difficult to get into. I heard Virginia Tech engineering is also a bit difficult to get into. So, chance me please?

Thank you!

Engineering is a very competitive major, and UVa is a very selective school. I applied to UVa with similar stats as you, but I was rejected for Early Action. However, I was not a resident of Virginia so the result may be different for you.

Your unweighted gpa is a little low for UVA but you have everything else they want so you should be a match. VCU should be a safety. Tech engineering is really difficult to get into but you’re taking AP physics and I’m assuming you’ve taken (or are taking calc), so you should get in there as well.

I think the main thing you need to work on is your unweighted GPA since engineering is such a competitive field

Our counselor doesn’t show us our unweighted GPA, just weighted so I’m just guessing that. It could be higher but I’m not sure. Yeah I’m in calc right now, Mathematics SL is calculus and some linear algebra and whatnot.
