Well your weighted GPA is slightly below their average but your SAT is in range. Your ECs are kind of bland though so high match. If you wrote crazy-good essays then you have a shot.

How many b’s have you gotten in total? I think they will like your upward trend (I have one too) but no matter what your gpa is low. It’s a high match in my opinion.

I have like 4 B’s and they are all in math. I’m kinda bad at it but ironically I have an A in BC this year. My strongest subject is science and so I applied to a science major on my common app.

Your gpa is a little low, but you have a very nice upward grade trend, strong SATs, quality EC’s…how long have you been involved in your ECs? the longer the better. You don’t have a lot of leadership but your other qualities could mask that. UVA and WM admitted a lot of people EA/ED this year; 4590 were accepted at UVA and they want approx 3570 to enroll in total. WM accepted over 500 students and they want an incoming class between 1300-1500 students. All that being said, I think your chances are better at UVA than at W&M this year because over 14000 people applied RD at WM for 800-1000 slots (they’ll probably accept around 3000 students).

You’re probably a high match for both, but you’re instate so that will help tremendously. I know from personal experience that WM places a lot of value on your essay and from what I remember from my UVA tour, they value the essay and transcripts a lot too.

That’s a bit disheartening because I’m in the safe zone for William and Mary on my naviance but I guess I should have applied ED. It would really suck if I got denied from both.

Your grades are good and you have a good course load and test scores, but it all really depends on the other applicants from your school. UVA is such a popular school for kids from NoVa so it really just depends on your classmates.

@maymay5678 I don’t think they will compare you to just the other people applying to the school but rather to everyone in your grade. They won’t specifically review you with other people who just applied just from your school. There could’ve been 20 people or just 1 person who applied but they will still look at your grade as a whole (class rank, class rigor)

I’m from NoVa too and I now at least at my school the counselors tell us they compare the applicants to the other applicants from that school in addition to the school as a whole due to the fact that they can’t have a large number of students from one school.

Don’t be disheartened. What usually happens is your accepted to one or the other. Even though the schools accept the same caliber student, most aren’t accepted at both. With your stats, I’m sure one will accept you!
