Chance me? UW Madison

ACT: 29 perfect score in english
GPA: 3.2, unfortunately. My school doesn't have weighted GPAs
Lots of volunteering, a good variety of activities (student council, ski club, I teach violin lessons, and I am also a camp counselor), and i'm in CAPP Spanish (or spanish 5). I've been told my essays were great and I sent two letters of recommendation; one from my boss, who graduated from UW Madison, and one from my spanish teacher who has known me for three years. I've had a job for three years, and am the head lifeguard, if that helps.

Do I have a chance at getting into UW Madison, or has my GPA ruined my chances?

Let me know what you think!

You gpa is a little low but if you took rigorous classes you should be ok and you have a very good act and as long as your instate I think you have a pretty good chance of getting in. Goodluck can u please chance back

Thanks:) and yeah i’ll chance back

i think you have a shot, as long as your essay showed you were passionate in something specific, since you ecs are really varied. i’d say 60% chance because of your gpa. please chance back

The letter from an alumna would be very helpful to your admission. If you get really nervous, I would drop an email to Admission Office expressing your interest again (do not demand your result but be polite and say you really want to go to the school). Remember that colleges WILL take students below and above the median so your GPA should fit (I don’t know UMadison’s stats though).

Thanks everyone:)

Hey I saw this post. I have a 3.4 gpa and a 30 act, and i’m one of the top pianists in my state and i really want to go to madison, so let me know if you get in! it would totally calm my nerves
