I got a little nervous before my last ED decision, it always seems to hit a few days before I find out…
I applied to Vandy’s under ED II because I am aware that I need all the edge I can get (regardless of how small).

I know that a 31 ACT is a little weak for Vandy especially with my terrible GPA, but I explain my erratic grades in my common app essay. I know my chances aren’t great, but is there any hope for me???
Thanks for any insight!
u’ve got a good chance mate
I’m going to have to disagree with above poster test scores and gpa just aren’t on par with most applicants. Your score and gpa can get you into plenty of good schools it just might not be vandy and that’s okay. I wish you the best of luck and hope you prove me wrong!

Breathe, there’s nothing you can do about it now, so there’s no point in stressing about it.
Vanderbilt does look at every aspect of a student. Something may make up for your non 4.0.
Just be patient, and let us know what the decision is please

Could those good schools possibly include (Aka chance me on): UVA, Wake Forest, William and Mary? Also applied to Dartmouth and Brown but those were my reaches. (For Brown I had a GREAT interview if that makes a difference though.)
I don’t think you’ll get into vandy just bc they’re very numbers oriented, and in general they tend to take more ppl with 34 act and 4.0 gpa with bad ecs than 3.5 and 30 with amazing ecs. that being said, I think you can definitely get into Wake Forest and W&M. I hope you get into vandy, you seem to really want to go there. good luck!
I think you have a decent chance at both wake and William and Mary. UVA I’d say not so great because it’s so competitive OOS
For those who care or are here to see how that compare, I did not get accepted ED II!!! Personally, I don’t really care because I wanted to see how many of my other schools accept me and due to the possibility of Dartmouth (my number one school after having a WONDERFUL alumni interview) accepting me, I was hoping for anything but an acceptance because I would have never known for any of my upcoming decisions!
And also before anyone says that if I couldn’t get into Duke or Vandy ED then I have no chance at Dartmouth… after information my recent alumni interviewer gave me, I have to say that I have a better chance getting accepted there than either of the aforementioned schools. Regardless, I can see myself being much happier at Dartmouth or William & Mary than at Vanderbilt.
Hey 2020BetterBeit, how did it go, can you share? My profile is similar to yours and I’m applying to Vandy next year.
