Wow this is soooo long! I'll really appreciate any responses!!! In the end, I just want to get into one of those schools. I'll be happy wherever I go (I hope). I'll try to chance others back but I don't really know much about that

First off, you can afford ED. Many individuals don’t realize that most schools’ ED program is binding regardless of the applicant’s financial status. Your income looks high enough that you can afford that decision, but be sure to consult with your parents first. Now to the advice.

Work on the SAT, that’s the weak point of your application. You need to get your CR score up into the 700+ level, which I have no doubt you can do based on your resume. Importantly, the CR/M score needs to be 1500+ for your SAT to not deter your application. Your grades are fine and course load is challenging enough. Your ECs are a strong, you’re active, engaged, and involved in your community. Perhaps demonstrate a tad more leadership. Those essays will really count for some of the privates on your list. Make sure they’re exemplary, and don’t come across as whiny (it’s a fine line with the arthritis story).

Chances with current SAT:
-Washington University in St Louis: Reach
-Vanderbilt: Reach
-Rice: Reach
-Tulane: High Match/Low Reach
-Brown: High Reach
-UCLA: Reach (the UCs are stats based, your SAT hurts here)
-University of Texas @ Austin: Match
-UNC @ Chapel Hill: High Match/Low Reach
-University of Florida: Match
-University of Miami: Match

Chances with a 2250+ SAT
Washington University in St Louis: High Match/Low Reach
-Vanderbilt: High Match/Low Reach
-Rice: Low Reach
-Tulane: Match/High Match
-Brown: Reach
-UCLA: Match
-University of Texas @ Austin: Low Match
-UNC @ Chapel Hill: High Match
-University of Florida: Safety
-University of Miami: Safety

Best of luck. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

@neuromajor Thank you so much!! I definitely believe I can get at least a 700 in CR next time but will be studying soo much for it that I hope I can get a 1500 CR/M. Some of those schools require SAT with SAT IIs OR the ACT w/ Writing; aren’t my subject tests too low? Don’t I need to rely on the ACT for some schools? If so, what score on the ACT should I be aiming for? I’m not exactly sure how I can demonstrate a bit more leadership but I appreciate the advice! I know it’s a fine line with the arthritis story but I’m using the topic about what’s super important to my identity; gonna work on that essay like crazy (as long with the supplemental essays)! One more thing: do you definitely think I’m making a good choice in not applying ED to Brown because I won’t have a chance at getting in (and leave the ED for another school)? Thank you so much!!

WUSTL: Reach
Vanderbilt: Reach
Tulane: High match (safety if EA as a Louisiana resident)
Rice: Reach
Brown: Reach
UCLA: Match
U Miami: Match
UF: Low match/Match (depends on state residency)
UNC: Match (if NC resident)/Reach (if OOS; you may as well ED at Brown)
UT-Austin: Match

BUMP
Don’t know just know important this is, but I plan on putting on the application that I’m majoring in psychology (also child development if the college offers it ie vanderbilt)

b u m p
again
Will I have a hard time with the colleges I listed because of my SAT/ACT scores?
