Chance me (very brief) and I'll chance back!

I attend a public high school in upstate NY. It's known to be pretty tough.

I have a 3.3 gpa (UW)

I have taken 5 APs (three 4's and two 3's) so far and will be taking 4 next year.

SAT: 2260 M 710 CR 750 W 800

SAT II: US History 710 .... will take more in Oct

ECs (outlined)
-varsity crew captain
-lots of experience in music (piano, music theory, music history at local conservatory)
-2 leadership positions in school related clubs
-over 150 hours of volunteering
-spent 3 weeks in Nicaragua volunteering
-church youth group
-class treasurer

What schools could I possibly look at?
I would love to go to schools like BC, William&Mary, Johns Hopkins, etc.
I know my gpa is really bad but I was just distracted by my extracurriculars :P
Please help me out guys!

A 3.3 Unweighted GPA might be a dealbreaker for schools like JHU and William and Mary. You’re ECs and SAT make you competitive, but the GPA may hurt. That being said you may still have a shot in these schools, but keep some safeties in mind!

Thank you for taking the time to reply!
I chanced back! :)

I agree; your GPA is somewhat low, but your SATs are really excellent, and your ECs look great as well! I think you have a chance at any of the schools you mentioned…just try to bring up your GPA as much as possible before admissions deadlines, and you just might have a good shot :)

Thank you!
I replied on your post!

Yeah all the colleges you posted are reaches because of your gpa, but I think your ecs will hold up and possibly get you in. Btw pic red flag. Don’t mention that your grades are low because of your ecs that’s a huge turn off because that’ll make colleges think that if other kids can do it why isn’t he/she doing. So don’t bring it up because it’s an easy way to get rejected.
