Hey- I checked your other threads. ACT score should be submitted over SAT. You know your GPA is below average for UVA but your test scores and ECs help. I also thought you said your grandfather went to UVA- but only parents count as legacies there?? But overall, the other VA schools should be doable as long as your essay is as good as you say. If there’s any way you could explain your low GPA in relation to ACT, that could help…
Hi! I put legacy there because I was talking to many people that attend UVA and they said that although it is not considered legacy if I mention him they will take that into account! I just figured that would be easier than explaining my situation. Also, my GPA is lower because my freshman and sophomore years in high school I was part of a very intense competitive cheer team( I know some people would say that’s dumb,but it’s true) and I simply prioritized that more than school and I regret it immensely. However, I do have a significant upward trend as I’ve gotten all A’s my junior and I am getting all A’s my first semester of senior year! Thank you for replying!! I’m applying regular for uva(:

You’ve explained your situation well. The only other thing you could do to know your chances might be to ask your counselor how many ppl from your school usually get into UVA and how you compare to those kids. Best of luck!
