chance me w/ my college list

sent in my applications earlier this month and was wondering what my chances would be for the following list of schools : )

gpa:
3.3 u/w
4.2 w

pretty low unweighted gpa but a track record of A’s and B’s across the board, C- in algebra 2 junior year was definitely a strong detriment haha

sat:
1400 (not super scored, strongest score overall)
680 math
720 reading

extracurriculars:
part-time job 4 out of 5 school days for 3 hours after school over the entire year as an after-school program supervisor for elementary school kids (11, 12)
part time job over the summer as a camp counselor (9, 10, 11, 12)
member of the career-preparation teaching club for kids in inner-city schools (10, 11, 12)
member of NASAGV club advocating for gun restriction (11, 12)
member of R.I.S.E. social empowerment club (11, 12)

went to a magnet arts school freshman year from 12-5pm which meant i was unable to pursue any extracurriculars at school during that year

intended major: sociology/undecided in the liberal arts field

ap courses:
ap gov (2 on the exam, not submitting)
ap psychology (haven’t taken exam yet)
ap studio art (probably not taking exam

pretty strong essay focusing on my inward struggle with introversion throughout school + how being the youngest at my job helped me overcome this

recommendations:
-junior year english teacher, pretty close to her so i’m assuming it’ll be a positive recommendation
-guidance counselor (required)

college list:

reach schools:
boston university (RD)
new york university (RD)

target schools:
fordham university (EA)
temple university (EA)
university of connecticut (RD)

safety schools:
suffolk university (EA)
scsu in connecticut (rolling)

thanks so much in advance!

What is your budget? What is your home state?

If you cannot afford to be full pay without taking on any debt, then have you run the NPCs on the schools that you have applied to?

@DadTwoGirls my home state is connecticut so uconn & southern would both offer in-state tuition, my family has about 75k saved already in a 529 and i come from an upper middle-class background so my parents are willing to fund the rest of my tuition costs. i’ve run the calculators for each school and the highest would be nyu at about 60k a year (that is if i get accepted lol) and the most affordable would be my in-state schools (entirely covered by my 529) i’ve been applying to scholarships to balance that out though and hopefully my safety schools are willing to send scholarship money my way.

I like your list. I think it’s realistic and appropriate. Good luck to you!

@4gsmom thanks so much!
