I want to get into my top 3 (Wash U STL, UNC CH, U Mich all out of state) for an undegrad degree in chem, bio, biochem, or biomed. I go to a relatively good suburban high school. I also want to get into CaseWestern, Northwestern, Notre Dame.

ACT: 34
SAT II: Chem (750), Math II (750)

APs: Human Geo(4), Euro(3), APCSP(3), APUSH(5), APCSA(5), AP Lang(5), Physics I(3), Physics II(3), Calc AB(5), Gov, Macro, Chem, Bio, Psych, Calc BC (rest idk yet)

ECs: Director of community outreach for Interact club, Director of fundraising for ASL Club, 2 Jobs(25 hrs a week), Research intern, hospital volunteer(4 hrs a week), tennis, started a small online business, help out at homeless shelter every week, NHS, FBLA, job shadow at a dentist office

Awards: Spanish Award, FBLA Nationals, AP Scholar

Other: First Gen college student, Asian, no rank, letters of rec are okay, ECs are mostly in Junior yr, Female

Did you apply EDI or EA anywhere? Considering ED2?

All of the schools on your list are reaches, with the exception of CWRU (probably a match). Make sure you have a broader list which includes additional matches and at least one affordable safety.

Have you run the net price calculators (NPCs) on each school’s site to estimate COA? Note the NPC may not be accurate if your parents are divorced, own a business or have significant real estate assets.

OOS will not matter for WashU since it’s a private school.

Michigan and UNC will be reaches for any OOS student even with high stats. UNC has a mandate to take in-state students first.
