Hello!
I am a senior in high school and my top school is Wesleyan University. I would just like to know what my chances of getting in are! Also before I begin, in the 8th grade I had to apply and audition for the high school that I attend, where I specialize in theatre. However, I do not plan on pursuing a professional career in theatre, even though I do love it. I am leaning more towards teaching. Okay, here we go!
Demographics:
Dominican, From Virginia, Raised by two mothers for most of my life
Stats:
GPA: Weighted 4.5 (My school does not do unweighted GPAs)
Class Rank: 21/524, top 4%
(I did not receive an ACT score within range of what Wesleyan typically requires, so I did not send any in. I am also not a good test taker to begin with.

Additional Comments:
In the 2018 theater competition I was involved in, my team and I brought our school to state finals for the first time in 30 years. Prior to my leadership positions in theater, I frequently participated in several productions, and had to work my way up to the major positions I attained. As for my professional experience, after interning for Quill Theater, I was frequently offered additional opportunities to support their productions. Finally, in terms of my current work, I am the lead actress in a play that documents the true stories of Hurricane Maria survivors, in which all of the money accumulated from this production will be donated to charities that specialize in rehabilitating the still damaged parts of Puerto Rico.
As for more of my current work, for The Magic Rainforest: An Amazon Journey, by Jose Gonzalez. I was immediately drawn to this piece, and after several discussions with my teacher and the playwright himself, I was granted the opportunity to direct this show.
This production will travel around the community, in order to educate young audiences on the demolition of our rainforests and the indigeneous peoples who inhabit them. Wherein, all of the money accumulated will be donated to a charity that specializes in these causes. As part of my vision, I chose to have all of the props and set pieces within this play be made out of recycled materials, and in preparation spent my summer collecting trash off the beaches in South Florida.
I realize that is a lot but I would appreciate if someone could provide their input on my chances! I realize that doing better on AP tests and the ACT would have benefited my application, but I would like to know if I would be a good competitor with what I have. Thank you!
