-I was on the front page of the local newspaper and have been on numerous sites such as Yahoo News and a number of smaller sites

I will be getting a recommendation from a friend of mine who has brought 4 companies from idea to $100M+ in annual revenue. He is a Harvard MBA alum.

Looks good but make sure you have a plan B as these target schools have quirky admissions standards that do not follow a set formula and are always surprising prospects who thought they were a “sure thing”…

Also any chance you are a minority or 1st Time college degree seeker in your clan ?

Good Luck!

I’d be surprised if they overlooked you, but yes, don’t put your eggs in the Wharton, Harvard, or Stanford baskets just yet. Did you apply EA to Harvard or Stanford or ED to UPenn by any chance? That would significantly boost your chances, the latter I mean.

tbh noone knows the admission criteria for the ivies. check out harvard’s site. it says-" there are as many 1960 sat scorers admitted as 2400 scorers" i myself dont get it. dont put high expectations on them. im a junior and am pretty much good too but i dont rely on them totally. you must have a plan b ready for ambushes.

So you guys don’t think my mediocre sophomore grades will hurt the application process? Would I have been better off waiting to apply regular decision to my top school so that they can see the rest of my senior grades?

To answer the poster above, I am a white male, not first gen college student (ugh)

Also, my freshman grades were pretty ugly too… but, Stanford told me they don’t even look at those. Anyone know about Wharton or Harvard?

You don’t need to go to college lol. Looks like you could be making more on your own. That’s an achievement enough probably to deserve a spot in such schools. What app is it btw?

Your resume is very impressive for a high school student. I’m not so sure about the other schools, but your business/entrepreneurship work will definitely help you for Wharton, but it won’t lock you in. Your relatively lower grades might work against you, but ultimately, you have a much better chance than most people.

For the other schools such as Harvard, that’s still going to be pretty much a crapshoot. However, your recommendation will definitely help if he is truly a friend of yours and knows you well (along with being an influential Harvard alumnus).

^Just finished chancing you back.

@dblazer I would prefer not to mention the name of the apps in order to keep my identity secret, but you may have heard about the most popular one if you have an iPhone. About 50% of the teens I ask have.

To everyone else, I have heard that Wharton will appreciate my business more than any of the other schools, but what about Stanford? With them being in Silicon Valley and all, I think they would look highly upon a tech startup. Plus, they always say that they want to see that you have picked one thing you are passionate about and have both stuck with it and have excelled in it. I would say that I have done both. Could you guys help me out with my odds of getting in there early action? This is my first choice.

I hate doing this, but bump

What is your class rank? While your ECs look good, why does the business read in past tense?

I go to a private school of about 100 people in each class… They don’t report rank. I dont know what you mean about my business stuff reading in past tense.

As colleges will know an approximation of your rank, won’t your counselor give you an idea? You talk about having had 2 employees and revenue peaking.
