Chance Me? + What schools should I apply to??

Im a high school junior in CT, and my top choice is the University of Rhode Island. (I’m considering UMass Boston and/or Boston U but idk if I have the stats for that lol)
I really want to major in secondary education, with a concentration in either English or History

SAT Score : 1120 (I plan on taking it again in August)
Cumulative GPA : 3.5
Quarter GPA : 3.7

Classes:
In general, I’ve taken a lot of Honors courses and 1 AP class in my high school “career”

I’ve been on the Honor Roll since 9th grade

Mandarin Chinese (9,10,11,12 - 10th, 11th and 12th grade I have taken/will take Honors Chinese)

Concert Choir (9) and Women’s Choir (10,11,12 - Honors Level), and I took a Beginner’s Piano class in my sophomore year.

I did Honors English for 9th and 10th grade, but this year I’m doing AP Lang and Comp, and next year I’ll do Supernatural Literature and Satire.

I did Global Studies freshman year, Modern Global Studies (Honors) sophomore year, Honors US History this year, and I’m taking Economics and Youth & the Law (Civics) next year.

For math I did Algebra 1 (but failed the class because the teacher sucked), Geometry, and Algebra 2 (I currently have a B+), and next year I’m doing Prob/Stat.

For science, I did Environmental Earth Science freshman year, Biology sophomore year, Chemistry this year, and I’ll be taking Forensics next year.

I’m also gonna be taking Intro to Photography next year.

EC’s/Random Things :

Track and Field (10th and 12th - I skipped out on track this year because of AP Lang)
Volunteering at my local library for the summer (10th and 11th)

Volunteering at my school’s instrument sale (9th)
Volunteering at my school’s holiday sale (11th)

Volunteering at my Choir’s Summer Workshop (10th, 11th, and 12th)
Editor for my school’s Literary Magazine (9th, 10th, 11th, hoping for a leadership position for 12th)
Member of my school’s Anime Club (9th, 10th, 11th, hoping for a leadership position for 12th)

What are my chances? Any other New England area schools I should apply to?

Thanks!!

UMass Boston: Safety, people with sub-3.0 GPAs and sub-1000 SATs get in here on a regular basis.
URI: Low match, Pretty sure you’ll be admitted here.
Boston University: Reach, keep your expectations in check, but I wouldn’t discourage applying.

Since you seem to like large schools, I’d probably recommend some of the other state flagships in New England: UConn, UMass-Amherst, UVM, UNH, UMaine. You have a fair shot at admission at all of them. As far as private universities go, you’d probably get into Fairfield, Hofstra, Providence, and Drexel. I also think that it wouldn’t be a bad move to apply to Syracuse or American either, they’d be reaches but you have a shot, the latter is test optional so the SAT won’t hold you back there.

Thanks so much! I’ll definitely check those out!

If you can get that SAT up higher (maybe just 200 points to 1300 or something), your chances will increase exponentially.
