I'm an international student studying in Middle East. My high school does not offer any AP Honors but the classwork is AP level. I'm in top 5-6% of the class with over 150 students in total. I want to be an electrical engineer.

My scores are:
SAT: 1910
TOEFL: 105
SAT Subject: Math Lvl2: 790, Physics: 780, Chemistry: 760
High school offers no gpa after class 10
Class 9 gpa: 9.8 (out of 10)
Class 10 gpa: 10 (out of 10)
Class 11 and Class 12 are on the basis of percentile. So even a 70% student can get A if class avg is low.

ECs:
National swimmer
High school swimming champion ( for 5 years)
Science fest winner
Participated in dances, dramas, debates and other cultural activities.
Various relief camps
Director Science
Received Scholar awards at high school for 5 consecutive years.

LORs:
Really good LORs from:
High School Physics Teacher
High School Social Science Teacher
Swimming Coach
School Counselor

Colleges applied to:
UMich (EA) (reach)
GAtech (EA) (reach)
UIUC (EA) (reach)
Purdue University (EA) (match)
UCLA (match)
UCSD (match)
PennState (Honors program: do not consider SAT, just high school grades and essays) (match)
UT, Austin (match)
UMinn (match)
UPenn
Carnegie Mellon
Cornell

Please chance me on getting any of the above universities.

@alafae I know UCSD is getting more selective but I believe I have a good gpa and ECs. National Swimmer is a big accomplishment. My LORs are amazing and essays too. So hopefully.

UMich (EA) (reach)
GAtech (EA) (reach)
UIUC (EA) (reach)
Purdue University (EA) (match)
UCLA is a reach because SAT isn’t high enough.
UCSD low reach.
PennState (Honors program: do not consider SAT, just high school grades and essays) (match)
UT, Austin (match)
UMinn (match)
Carnegie Mellon
Cornell-raech

One of my friends who didn’t get into UCSD had a full mark IB prediction, excellent ECs too. I’m just saying it to ask you not to underestimate it, I guess it boils down to whether you have appealing essays!

Your swimming is incredible! But SAT is on lower side. Do you plan to take any test again? or maybe ACT might be a better choice (if you don’t mind late fee or taking test again)

Hmmm… I’m not sure about these two. A lot of qualified students are rejected. subpar-scored students are accepted. I guess anything can happen with UC. One of my friend got 1700 and was accepted to UCLA but she had killer gpa.

@notyourflower Are you certain I will get UMich CoE EA?
A friend of mine got in with lower stats but his overall gpa and ECs were like mine.
My LORs are amazing.
What do you think about PennState Honors? they do not see SAT. Only gpa with LORs and ECs?
