need to get that sat up but other wise you should be high match/low reach for all, oh and try not to be asian, try like native american, it definitely helps! =]

Haha thanks for your “recommendation”!

Not familiar with Cooper Union, but the rest are all reaches, I would say your best bet would be with Carnegie Mellon, but depending on what you are majoring in the difficulty of admission ranges. I see you have an interest in music, but I just receive this impression that your ECs were all about quantity and not quality. Hopefully there were a couple in which you had a passion for and exemplified this in your application, test scores for Princeton, MIT, Cornell, and Standford are a bit on the downside just from the top of my head. Cornell, being just M + CR, hurts you a bit.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1066987-chance-me-university-richmond.html

:/ Dang. I was expecting maybe a high match or low reach at Rice, Vandy, and northwestern.

Your test score is good, its just class rank, I think really for these top schools a top %5 is a requirement, remember these chance threads are never accurate, they are a just a conjecture. The only really aspect these chance threads do is verify or not if you are applying to the right colleges, as in if they are in your league. These colleges are a reach, but its not something you have 0% of getting accepted

Definitely not a high match/low reach at Rice, Vanderbilt, or Northwestern with those SAT Reasoning scores… They’re extremely low for all three.
^ And I would not say his test scores are “good” in the context of those schools, no offense OP. Your subject tests are quite strong, but the SAT Reasoning honestly is really low for the schools you’re applying to.

Dang
Maybe i’ll get rejected everywhere :[

Well, Thanks for the input!
Any other opinions?

I think the Ivies, MIT, and Stanford are pretty big reaches for you. Your class rank will hurt you a bit, but it’s not terrible. Also, congratulation on your improvement on the SAT. That’s huge. I would not call them extremely low. Your CR score is low, but it’s much better than before.

I think you have a fair chance at Rice, Cooper Union, Carnegie Mellon, and Berkeley, while Northwestern is a reach and Vandy is a mid reach.

Your EC’s a pretty good, though I do wonder why you’re no longer in Cross country, track, and university band. Why did you quit?

Chance back
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1063017-i-hate-do-but-chances.html

I’ve gotten into Tulane with 20K scholarship
but got deferred to Cooper Union (ED) and Case Western Reserve.

I quit because i wanted to focus on academics and music.
I’m not a big fan of setting my lifestyle towards college. So…i guess my stats aren’t impressive… :/

Thanks for the input! anyone else?

MIT is going to be very very hard. As are Princeton, Stanford, and Berkeley.
I’d say you have a decent chance at Rice, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and CMU.

^ Im sure if you pay the full tuition for Berkley ul get in, my HS batchmates last year got in with like 1900 SATs, no IB HLs or APs

Cooper Union - low reach
Princeton - high reach
UC Berkeley - reach
MIT - high reach
Carnegie Mellon - reach
Cornell - reach
Northwestern - low reach
Stanford - high reach
Rice - high match/low reach
Vanderbilt - low reach
You have a good GPA and good ECs, but your rank and SATs hurt you in the end.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1063724-chance-me-please-ill-chance-back.html

Thanks!! Anyone else???

Slightly low SAT scores for some of those schools, however your GPA and rank are on par. Your ECs lack focus - I would say you have too many! A strong passion doesn’t shine through.

Princeton - mid/high reach
UC Berkeley - mid reach
MIT - high reach
Carnegie Mellon - mid/low reach
Cornell - mid reach
Northwestern - mid reach
Stanford - high reach

Please chance back :} http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1062868-chance-swede-wharton-harvard-yale-etc.html

I emphasized music in my essay. My main focus is on music i guess. I never really adjusted my lifestyle to college admission so my EC isn’t very great.

Alrighty, IB buddy, yay. Haha!

I would say, your EC and leadership is very impressive; however, you need to raise your SAT I score… A lot. If not, Ivies/Stanford, will most likely be a no. However, there is still a chance! So don’t give up! I have the same problem as you, takes IB classes, high academic stats… Etc., but my SAT I score is the problem. May I suggest the ACT? I got a 32 on my first ACT with no studying. That, in translation is maybe around a 2100-2200 SAT score, so I’m planning on raising it. You may be better suited for the ACT. I know a guy who got a 2200 on his SAT and a 36/36 on his ACT but got into Yale, so many people thinks that besides his amazing stats, his ACT score is what got him in! Plus, you’re mainly looking towards schools on the East coast, ACT is much more widely accepted there!

Cooper Union- very hard to get in, harder than ivys IMO (tuition is free so i mean who doesnt want that? =fierce competition)
Princeton- reach for anybody
UC Berkeley- possible, recently California’s econmy is in the ****ter so outta state gotta pay extra $ so maybe? i dont know reach
MIT- reach for anybody
Carnegie Mellon- lower reach
Cornell- depends on the specific college, but low-mid reach
Northwestern- reach
Stanford- reach for everybody
Rice-low-mid reach
Vanderbilt- dont know much about vandy
