really even being a double legacy at uofm, and all of the ecs. my act score is in the range for 4-11 and i am going to study this year to get it up a couple points. i am only going to be a junior. not trying to be defensive

Thank you for your reply to mine! You are just going to be a junior so it is hard to tell, but I will give it a shot. Your extracurriculars are great! Model UN all the way… just saying. You have very good grades and a solid GPA. However, you have to understand that once you qualify for an IVY league it is al luck from there.

UPENN (Wharton)- chance
2.UofChicago- good chance
3.Duke- good chance
4.UofVirginia- most likely
5.UofMichigan- good chance
6.Georgetown- chance
7.Cornell- good chance
8.UNC at chapel hill- good chance
9.Boston College- most likely
10.UofIllinois- most likely
11.MiamiofOhio- most likely

I think Duke, Georgetown, and Cornell are the only reaches here. If you get up your ACT though you should be accepted to a large % of these schools

It’s hard to say given that you’re pretty far out until applications are sent. Surprising you took the ACT as a sophomore, but a 30 isn’t a bad place to start. You’re on track, I really can’t say anything as far as chances go. A 32-33 on the ACT, continued solid grades, continued involvement in your ECs and I’d say out of your selective school choices (#1-8), you’d get into around 2 - 4 of them.

Wow. Your ECs are awesome. ACT needs a little improvement, but you obviously have time to do
that. I think you have a great shot if most (if not all) of these schools if you keep all of this up.

Thanks for chancing me!
You should definitely work on your ACT score, but not bad place to start-are you planning on taking SATs?
Its a little bit hard to tell without the Junior year scores, but if you were to improve your ACT to about 33 and up, you should be safe score-wise.
I’d say at that point all except Duke and UPenn would be matches (those two only because one is “Harvard of the South” and the other is an Ivy)
Best of luck to you and work hard junior year!! :)

EC’s look pretty good but try to do something more outstanding. Otherwise, improve the ACT and you should be at target/mid-reach for most of those schools.

you should definitely retake the ACT or the SAT and try to improve the score to 34. that will give u a good chance in all the universities u listed.

You need to get your ACT up a few points and write an exceptional essay. Then, it’s up to chance. With that, you should be good with all, save the ivies and maybe UChicago - those will always be iffy.

Buddy , if you were able to get your ACT score up to 34 , and keep your great ec’s and you excellent GPA , you’ll have a huge chance in most of the colleges that are on your lest .
A piece of advice : try the SAT , I found it easier than the ACT (( but that’s just me )) .

1.UPENN (Wharton)- big reach
2.UofChicago- reach
3.Duke- reach
4.UofVirginia- low reach
5.UofMichigan- target
6.Georgetown- low reach
7.Cornell- reach
8.UNC at chapel hill- reach
9.Boston College- target
10.UofIllinois- safety/target
11.MiamiofOhio- safety
gotta get that ACT score up a few points if you want any chance at the elite schools.
