chance me? Will chance back =)

So I have my test scores from June (kinda disappointed) and I am finally getting into the college search. Here are my stats:
my GPA is a 4.0 unweighted and is a 4.19-4.2 Weighted (took too many regular classes freshman and sophomore year.... class rank is 16/350ish-- should go up after first semester b/c of my 6 APs). For senior year I am gonna take AP English Lit, AP Calc BC, AP Stats, AP Psychology, AP Chem, AP econ maro, and AP Econ micro (so, I think my course load is somewhat rigorous).

Total AP tests- 11-13 (self studying for 2 of them this year--APHG and Comparative gov)... besides the ones mentioned above, I have taken AP Bio (5), APES(5), AP English Language(5), and AP World History(3)

I just took the SAT for the second timeand got a 2160 (780M,700CR,680W,11 essay). I am retaking in October and have already increased my score to about a 2250-2300.
Took the ACT for the second time and got a 32 (32.25 lol) ...I was expecting a 34-36... I will retake in september
Also got a 780 on Bio sat 2 and 740 on math level 2.

As for awards, freshman year I won the all A's award, geomerty student of the year, and communication applications student of the year. Sophmore year (at my new school), I recieved the principals honor roll. This year, I won the Discus Award, an academic letter (for receiving a high GPA), and the prinicpal's honor roll twice. I will also be awarded several awards for the congressional award (probably bronze, silver, and gold certificates).

Volunteer at Library (9-11.... I love to read/write in my free time)
Will be a sports writer for Bleacher Report (has millions of views each month) this month (11-12 I love to write and love sports). As of now, I am a sports writer for 2 other websites.
Volunteering at a Hospital (11-12... I would like to be a doctor-- specifically a cardiologist)
created a website called: yourheartdisease.org (11-12 talks about the heart and heart disease.... I would like to be a cardiologist)
Red Cross Club member (10, I would like to go into the medical field)
Helped out at a Basketball Summer Camp (10-11 Love sports)
Am going to be a cofounder of the cricket club (the sport) and the president of it (love sports) (11-12)
Student Council Student Ambassador (9... leadership)
NSHSS member( 9-12) NSHSS student Ambassador(11-12... leadership)
Will be a teen council member next year (12, leadership)
Link Crew (12... help out freshman at school... leadership)
Spanish Club (10)
NHS (11-12)
Model UN (10)
Created a website on Education in Africa... not up anymore (9-10)
Helped out orphans in Pakistan (9)

I am an American born Pakistani that can speak urdu quite well (not fluently). I can also read Arabic (haha kind of weird thing about me).

So yeah. If you can chance me for these schools, that would be great!
Dartmouth
Cornell
U penn
Stanford
university of denver
UNC (oos)
UCLA (oos)
University of Michigan (oos)
Duke
Rice

You have good stats, but definitely try to increase your SAT and ACT for a solid shot at the schools. Also, perhaps taking an SAT2 in a humanities (social studies or language) would be good because it will show your a well rounded person. While your ECs are good, you are lacking one thing that colleges love: research. Try to work if you can at a lab before you start applying. iPlus, potentially doing some more science-related ECs would help out. Lastly, you are lacking some awards, like state or national. Besides that, you have a shot at all colleges you listed, but, I don’t see hooks(unless American Pakistani is URM), so it is reach for most.

Thanks for chancing me, so I’m repaying the favor. You have some really interesting ECs that actually show what you’re interested in (medicine, reading/writing, and sports). Good job!

Dartmouth-
Cornell-low/mid reach
U penn-low/mid reach

Good luck!

Thanks guys! Are there any suggestions for other schools that would be matches?
@bilnythesciguy- Do u think UNC, UCLA, U of Michigan and DU are reaches?

oh no matches sorry didnt see them.

oh thanks lol. And do u guys know if applying ED to Penn helps alot?

Cornell, Upenn, Stanford and Duke all seem like low reaches/high matches only because admittance is so unpredictable at schools of their level. The other schools seem like medium/high matches with the exception of UNC simply because I’m not that knowledgeable about their statistics.

If you can bring up your SAT in October your chances should increase.

thanks eljamas!

definitely Univeristy of Michigan  the rest are low matches. Best of luck!

thanks nerd4life7. I appreciate it!!

Overall, you are very decent–not terrible, not outstanding. You will definitely have some good schools to choose–whether they will be ivies or not depends on how well your essays turn out and how you can convey your passion for cardiology throughout your application. Be sure to attach a resume with your EC’s, but on the common app, which allows for ten, be sure to list the ones that are the most important regarding your focus.

Best of luck, and thanks for the chance :)

Your scores are a little low which may be the only thing that keeps you out of schools like Stanford, UPenn, etc. That’s not bad though because you still have a little bit of time to get your scores up. You are solid in the EC department which should help out tremendously with admissions! Thanks for chancing me and good luck!

Thanks a lot guys!!! Hopefully I can pull a 2300 in October!!
anybody else?

You’ll be competitive to whichever school you choose to apply, and I highly suggest applying to all of them that you want to go to. You never know! :)- Cheers!

thanks! :)

Assuming you do get that SAT score up I think you’ll be a competitive applicant (just like everybody else lol). nothing really stands out as bad, nothing really stands out as exceptionally good.
