Chance me? Will chance back!

Hey guys! So I'm a senior and getting a bit nervous about where I can get in and where I should apply- I want to go into business (definitely finance, maybe double major with econ)

Please let me know what you think my chances would be with each of the following universities:

ED: Cornell Dyson for AEM (results come out in less than a month :O)

Early Action:
Villanova SOB
Northeastern D'Amore (Business School)

Regular:
UPenn Wharton
Columbia Business School (is this even worth applying? lol)
Stanford Business School (is this also even worth applying?)
Duke Fuqua School of Business
UChicago Econ
NYU Stern
Georgetown Business School (getting an alumni recommendation letter, if that's helpful)
Northwestern
Emory Goizueta (i know i apply to emory, not GSB so emory)
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill
University of Texas - Austin
Boston College
Boston University

Note: I'm probably going to get rejected from Cornell so for my stats should I ED II to NYU Stern or do I still have a good chance of getting into Stern through regular decision? It's my second choice but I just think it's a big commitment

My stats (I got to a competitive school in the Northeast, class size ~ 700+):

ACADEMIC:
GPA UW: 3.64 (I know, it's kind of low)
GPA W: 4.06
SAT I: first try 2190 (720 M, 720 CR, 750 W) second try 2210 (680 CR, 730 M, 800 W)
Superscore SAT I: 2250
SAT II: Math II- 770, Chem- 720
PSAT: 221 (Commended)
Rank: School doesn't tell us
Coursework: Steadily increasing rigor since 9th grade (and upward GPA curve)
APs taken: Chem (5), Econ (micro and macro- both 5s), Calc AB (took the BC test and got a 5). Currently taking AP: Spanish, Statistics, Biology, Comparative Gov. and Politics. Self-studied Physics B (4) and Psychology (4)
Honor Societies: NHS, Social Studies HS, Science HS, Spanish HS

I've done really well first quarter of senior year (~4.5 gpa)

EXTRACURRICULARS:
Clubs:
-Future Business Leaders of America, competed and placed in local/state/national level competitions multiple times and multiple-time state committee member
-3x Student council officer
-Volunteer club at school- 3x executive member
-Secretary/President/Webmaster (3x officer) of local volunteer/cultural club (won multiple awards)
-Model UN member since 10th grade
-Cultural club at school member since 9th grade
-JSA member 9th/10th
-3 internships so far (business-related)
-Volunteer at local hospital since 9th grade, 100+ hours
-Boys track 10th grade

PERSONAL:
Race: Indian in the Northeast of US
Family income: ~$150k

College essays:
I really like my common app essay, I think it's pretty strong (it reflects who i am) and it isn't a sob story or anything like that. My supplements should all also be pretty good, I'm spending time on them and I think they're pretty well-written.

OTHER:
-Rec letters: I think they're pretty strong, I know all the teachers who wrote them well/on a personal basis
-Included a photography portfolio with my common app
-Included Coursera coursework i've done
-Currently learning my 4th language in school (spanish)

*NOTE: do you guys recommend that I apply anywhere else based on my stats?

Cornell - low reach / high match
Villanova SOB - match
Northeastern D’Amore (Business School) - low match
UPenn Wharton - low reach
Columbia Business School - high reach. However you might a shot.
Stanford Business School - high reach
Duke Fuqua School of Business - reach
UChicago Econ - reach
NYU Stern - low reach / high match
Georgetown Business School (getting an alumni recommendation letter, if that’s helpful) - high reach
Northwestern - reach
Emory Goizueta (i know i apply to emory, not GSB so emory) - low reach
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill - high match
University of Texas - Austin - match
Boston College - match
Boston University - low match, possibly safety

I would definitely recommend applying EDII, I don’t think it would hurt you. Also I think you have a great shot at Cornell, especially because you applied ED.

The fact that you’re learning a fourth language is really cool, definitely try to play that up in your application. Great AP scores and SAT’s as well, however if you’re really shooting for Cornell it couldn’t hurt to take them again. Keep up your great grades this year as well, especially if you end up applying to NYU regularly.

You might want to consider UMichigan as well. Hope this helps :)

I do not know anything really about ED II, NYU stern, etc. I do think, however, that the only thing that stands out in your application right now is the business internships you mentioned (you have not elaborated on these, but you want to go to business school, so I would assume these help). Try to highlight this on your app because besides that, everyone wanting to do business is probably going have some sort of FBLA participation. While a lot of them will probably also have internships, try to show schools what is unique about the experience that you had. Right now (I don’t know some of these schools so there may be more difficult ones) I would say the hardest to get into are Stanford, Columbia, Duke, and Georgetown. You should still try though! Your GPA is kind of low, which will negatively impact your application to some degree (though the senior year grades may help!) But your SAT scores are in range, and if you can elaborate on the uniqueness of those 3 internships and craft beautiful essays, I would say your chances are as decent as anyone’s! Good luck!

And thank you for chancing me as well!

Stanford, Columbia, UPenn Business School: high reach
UChicago, Duke, Cornell: reach
The rest are low reach to matches.

Chance me?http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1575443-chance-me-my-ed-ea-hyp-mit-please-will-chance-back-3.html

Cornell AEM is really tough, only 8% of applicants got in last year. You still look like a good applicant though, and ED always helps!

Cornell AEM ED - Low reach
Villanova SOB - Low match
Northeastern D’Amore (Business School) - low match
UPenn Wharton - reach
Columbia Business School - reach
Stanford Business School - high reach
Duke Fuqua School of Business - reach
UChicago Econ - reach
NYU Stern - High match (especially if ED II)
Georgetown Business School - Low reach
Northwestern - Low reach
Emory Goizueta (i know i apply to emory, not GSB so emory) - High match
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill - high match
University of Texas - Austin - match
Boston College - match
Boston University - Safety

Good luck!

ED: Cornell Dyson for AEM (results come out in less than a month :O) - mid reach

Early Action:
Villanova SOB - safety/match
Northeastern D’Amore (Business School) - safety/match

Regular:
UPenn Wharton - reach
Columbia Business School (is this even worth applying? lol) - reach
Stanford Business School (is this also even worth applying?) - high reach
Duke Fuqua School of Business - low reach
UChicago Econ - mid reach
NYU Stern - high match / low reach
Georgetown Business School (getting an alumni recommendation letter, if that’s helpful) - high match
Northwestern - low reach
Emory Goizueta (i know i apply to emory, not GSB so emory) - match
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill - low reach
University of Texas - Austin - match
Boston College - high match
Boston University - safety/match

I would say mid reach to high reach for Cornell and all schools ranked above it! For GTown and STERN I would say low reaches. I would put BU as a match, and BC and Emory as high matches! Good luck

Don’t take my word!

@aquasands thank you  about nyu stern- i meant to ask if you think I can get into stern through regular decision

*BUMP can anyone chance me for NYU Stern ED II?

Stern ed 2 you have a pretty good chance! I would recommend applying ed2 as well but only if that’s your top choice school and you would rather be nowhere else.

I would say high match/match for stern ED 2.

blueboy12345: if finance is definitely what you want to do why would you go to a school that doesn’t offer that?
