Unweighted GPA is kinda low, but everything else is on par.
UPenn(ED)- reach
MIT(EA)- high reach
CMU- high reach
Columbia- reach
Cornell- low reach/match
Michigan- low match
Southern California- low match
Berkeley- low reach (its computer engineering is pretty hard)
UWashington- match
CalTech- high reach
UIUC- match
JHU-high match

@divinggirl6 Thanks so much. Is high match or low match better.

I agree with divinggirl6, the only thing that I see hurting you is your unweighted GPA but that is understood from all the APs you took and probably are taking.
UPenn(ED)- low reach/high match since you are applying ED
MIT(EA)- reach
CMU- low reach
Columbia- reach
Cornell- low reach
Michigan- low match
Southern California- low match
Berkeley- high match
UWashington- safety
CalTech- high reach
UIUC- safety
JHU- match
These are all in my opinion so take it with a grain of salt if you disagree. Can you chance me back??
Also low match is better than high match.

I agree with divinggirl6, your unweighted GPA is a little low for some of those schools. @venividivicidm A high match is probably better because it’s one you will realistically get in but it’s on the higher end of the spectrum.

Most of my B’s are in Spanish and English, I got a B once in math and science both first semester of sophomore year, but that was stressful since I had family things going on and was taking AP Physics without prior physics knowledge. My second semester sophomore year was 3.86(B in Spanish), first semester junior year was 3.71(B in Spanish + English), second semester was 3.86(B in Spanish). So last 3 semesters GPA average was 3.81 if that helps any.

I’m applying to UPenn’s M&T program with non-binding SEAS as my second choice, how will that play in?

That would hopefully help.

Should I explain my low first semester of sophomore year? I don’t want to make excuses.

You seem like a great candidate but being Asian isn’t helpful since you’re competing with also high scoring asians but there should not be any trouble for you to get into some of these schools

You’ve done very well, and your academic record is stellar. I think if you successfully distinguish yourself in your essays and if your recommenders do the same, you’ve got a good shot.

Chance me back?

@giafashion1 Thanks and I know, it can’t be helped though.
@SirPepsi sure, wheres the thread?

Please get a few more matches and safeties

@cappex , I applied to state schools like UVA and UMD etc. I just included colleges I was wary about.

I predict you will get 3 or 4 acceptances out of that list. (not including the state schools) good luck

@cappex Thank you, do you have 3 on mind or are you just thinking through chances?

Honestly, it will be a lot of luck due to being Asian…

That can’t be helped, what other schools have a good comp Sci/finance program? Like Penn’s M&T
