Schools I'm looking at:
University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign
University of Wisconsin - Madison
Boston University
University of Rochester
Macalester College
American University
George Washington University
University of Chicago
Northwestern University

Also, does anyone know how much the NMF scholarships for American and George Washington Universities are?

University of Wisconsin - Madison: I’m a wisconsinite myself haha. All I know is outta state it will be rough…
Boston University - match
George Washington University - match/low reach
University of Chicago - reach
Northwestern University - reach

Mostly the GPA that makes the reaches ‘reaches’.

i think youre in pretty good shape for all those colleges- watch out for Northwestern. In my opinion, its a relatively difficult school for anyone

University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign: not sure, but seems like a match
University of Wisconsin - Madison: fair match
Boston University: match
University of Rochester: match
Macalester College: high match
American University: low match/safety
George Washington University: high match
University of Chicago: reach, judging by writing scores; big on the intangibles there
Northwestern University: reach, better chance than Chicago though.

My writing isn’t really as bad as it seems from the test scores, I just can’t write well with a 25 min time limit. I think I’ll do pretty well on the U of C essays; this year’s look great. Haven’t looked at any other school’s essays yet.

Thanks for the chance in my thread. Your test scores are good but your grades are holding you back and you aren’t big on the extracurriculars either. Harvard1009, your post wasn’t very accurate, I think you need to do more research on Northwestern.

Boston University- match
American University- high match
George Washington University- reach
Northwestern University- reach

Your SAT scores are really good! but unfortunately your gpa is a bit low (for your reaches) it is good that it is an upward trend, and you had a rigorous course load which colleges will take notice of. Good luck!

Thanks for all the chances everyone! I was considering retaking the SAT. I know a 2210 is high, but it’s kind of lopsided. How hard is it to improve the writing score? Also, do the colleges on my list superscore?

EDIT: Was considering applying to USC, can anyone chance me for it?

this is my chance back. i’m sure you’ll get into all of those except university of chicago and northwestern. you have good chances there, but your gpa needs to be overshadowed by other stuff.
