<p>Asian, Girl, rural school that is decent but not the best in the area (at least 1 ivy [UPenn this year] or top ranked school a year), immigrant</p>

<p>I have straight A's. I am in the International Baccalaureate Program in school, and will most probably acquire the IB Diploma. I am number two in a class of about 430 (and is planning on reclaiming number one).</p>

<p>Awards: international awards in writing (chinese) and art, Gold President's award for service hours, other literature prizes, fed challenge state champion, national science award, volunteer awards, Taekwondo competition awards</p>

<p>Clubs: Fed Challenge (Captain), Knowledge Bowl, Mu Alpha Theta, German Club (Secretary), Engineering Club, Varsity Band, National Society of High School Scholars, Beta, NHS, Tri-M Music Society, and Chinese Culture Society (Founder and President).</p>

<p>Volunteer: Red Cross, International Children's Heart Foundation, MCing at Chinese New Year Festivals, Beta club and NHS stuff.</p>

<p>Summer Activities: Governor's School for Sciences as sophomore, Summer Leaders Seminar at West Point and Summer Science Program as junior. </p>

<p>I take Taekwondo and plays Piano and Flute. I have been playing piano since 6 and will have a black belt in Taekwondo by I graduate. </p>

<p>You have a GPA lol? I’m assuming it’s 3.9+ cause of number 2 status.
EC’s are pretty good, and some good essay topic possbilities (culture shock as a Chinese immigrant, etc.).</p>

<p>SAT’s and PSAT’s are excellent. Summer activities are good, and I’d suggest using your eventual blackbelt to teach karate?</p>

<p>Other than that, they’re all reaches (HYPS and MIT and other ivies are crapshots anyway)</p>

<p>you have chosen a lot of schools that are basically random. HYPSM are always impossible to chance. Unfortunately you sound stereotypically asian, so it might be a real reach, unless you live in an underrepresented area. Caltech is also a reach, and Olin is really too small to judge (my school is sending about 5 people there), you just have to interview really well. I would say you are closer to a match for the rest of the schools you listed, though some are easier than others, Fordham and Vanderbilt are easily the most likely. </p>

<p>you chose a good range of schools from reaches to safeties. I agree with the person on top of me except I think the high reaches are just regular reaches. You are competitive at every school in the nation with your stats but Harvard, Princeton, Stanford and MIT are unpredictable as I’m sure you already know.</p>

<p>780s for both Math II and Physics. Would that still be good enough for my school choices? </p>

<p>I might retake the Math II later, though.</p>
