I have a couple of months to get my act together.

Chance me for William and Mary please (in state and out of state due to moving circumstances)

I know we are in middle of junior year, but all information takes that into account, so please assume all info is for after junior year ends.

SIDE NOTE: I have heavy interest in politics, always reading the news, but don't know how to apply it. Any ideas?

Forgot to mention that my school has 800 kids in the graduating class. No idea about class rank.

Why I want to be chanced:

I want to know what my chances are because my parents are considering a move to Virginia for other reasons. I then found out about William and Mary.

I know i’m not good enough for Georgetown (my dream for when I entered high school) and so I heard about W&M and I decided to look into it.

I think my SAT is pretty good, but my ECs are weak and so is my GPA.

I’m kinda nervous about where I should rank W&M (normal or reach) and I want to have my list of possible colleges down soon.

Naviance has very optimistic data, but I fear it’s a little too optimistic (Naviance shows a 4.35 weighted average accepted, will have a 4.32 at the end of the year).

Anyway, I appreciate all the feedback!

bump? Anyone? I’m really nervous and like to know what are my realistic chances due to my weak ECs

Get good grades the rest of the year and retake the SAT, it can never hurt.

Thanks. I’m planning on doing the same anyway, but any thoughts on my chances right now? I’d just like to be able to life-plan.

I’m in NJ and few kids apply to W&M, so Naviance isn’t very clear.

Your SAT definitely exceeds the 75th percentile (except for math). However, I will say that only 14% of applicants had GPA’s below 3.75, so that places you at a disadvantage. However, their admissions process is really holistic. Write great essays. Early decision also has a 50% acceptance rate, which is a huge boost.

With your current stats, probably low reach. If your GPA is up to where you think it’ll be at the end of this year, and your SAT goes up a little, I’d say high match. ED (only do if first choice) and you’d be match.

Good luck!
