W&M: reach

I would say it is a low reach. I think it is weird how your UW gpa is 3.4 when your SAT is over 2000. In state will help you. You have pretty average ECs. A 2170 on the SAT would help you. But overall I would say low reach. Good luck!

Picklechicken: do you think early decision will help? Also do you think a high sat can overcome my gpa? Im really shooting for WM

The extent that ED helps depends on the school. But yes ED will still make a difference in your chances. I do not know the stats for W&M, but for Duke the ED acceptance rate is about 30% and the RD acceptance rate is about 10%.

A high SAT will help you, but I don’t think it can overcome the gpa. That gpa stood out a bit to me. But you are taking hard classes, so you do not seem like a slacker (which is often the perception with low gpa and high sat scores), however, it is something admissions will notice. The fact that you are in-state will definitely help you as well.

Like I said, you have a solid shot, but it is a bit of a reach, mainly due to your gpa.
